Car starts up then dies, losing ground to fuel pump, turn key off, wait a few seconds, turn key back on, pump runs-builds up fuel pressure, start car, runs afew seconds & dies, but fuel pump won't kick back on untill you cycle the key again. i've tried unlocking the passenger door, still doesnt reset the security system, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Battery going bad in key.. need new battery and reprogramed to security system..
2 things bad ground wire on the fuel pump... Check the connector block at the back of the trunk on the right side behind the passenger seat for water intrusion or corrosion.. Clean it and try to seal it from more water intrusion.
And badly worn key.. Easy to fix as this generation doesn't have a "chip to encode" in the key. Just get a new blank from ebay for about $20, and get a good locksmith to jig cut the blank for you (about $35.), you'll find the code in your glove compartment on a label in most cases.
(if these 2 things don't work the fuel pump may be dying and be in need of replacement) FYI: this happened to my 87. The key cut looked completely different than the one i got with the car. And works perfectly. :-D

Sounds like the fuel pump is bad.... I would have the codes read and start there... but my imediate suspicions are the fuel pump.
