Intermittent start/gauges 1998 Chrysler Concorde Lxi sometimes won't start---just nothing. Sometimes it starts and then dies after a few seconds. Sometimes it starts just fine and runs OK then the dash gauges go to zero and the check engine light comes on but continues to run. If I shut it off it may start with no gauges or it may not start. If I disconnect the cable plug out of the power center and plug it back in it usually starts. I have beat my head against this thing and I came up with a bad BCM. Am I correct?

SOURCE: HOW DO I GET TO THE BATTERY IN MY 1999 CONCORDE LXI

The batery is located in the right side finder. You have to pull the wheel and you will see the cover for it toward the front of the car behind the head lite. its not fun. Good luck

SOURCE: Chrysler Concorde LXI 4 door - 2004 The car starts up and seconds after, the RPM drops and the car shuts off. The code P0513 comes up on the computer.

That is a code for an invalid skim key. If you have another skim key try it. If it does the same thing then the skim module may be bad.

There is a faulty sensor or valve. Sounds like a valve. The best thing to do, is take it somewhere that can diagnose the trouble code. Autozone can I believe, and they can tell you exactly what's going on with it.

SOURCE: NO GAUGES & WON'T SHIFT TRANSMISSION

I would have the high and low shift sensors replaced first. If it continues to not shift it is staying in limp mode and you need to take it to trans shop to have diagnostic

I have a chrysler concorde 1998 the speedo works occasionally i checked the codes with a code reader no codes were givin i checked fuses all is good any ideas?????

No generic code reader will read anything other than PCM/ECU codes, and sometimes ABS codes if you spend a little extra money.

The 1998 Chrysler Concorde also didn't have a instrument cluster that was controlled by the Body Computer. (BCM)
If your speedometer is working occasionally, then chances are that there is a intermittent short in the wiring or that one gauge is just going bad.

While you're driving or when it happens, try to pay attention to what makes it happen... Hitting bumps in the road or hitting the dash with your hand will be a sign of possible bad wiring.
If it worked when you shut the car off, and then doesn't work when you start it back up the next day could mean that the speedometer and/or instrument cluster is going bad.

Hello! I have a 1998 Chrysler Concorde lxi 3.2.

P1684 only means battery power has been lost sometime in the last 50 engine starts. If the battery has gone dead or has been disconnected, this is a normal code. Begin by testing your battery. It could be as simple as recharging or replacing the battery.

I have a 1999 concorde lxi and the battery like keeps coming on. Sometimes it starts sometimes it doesn't. The battery seems to have a lot of juice in the battery could be alternator even it still starts?

By the description of your problem it seems you have a defective voltage regulator.

Take your car to an AutoZone to have the alternator tested. There is no charge for this diagnostic.

Good Luck
