Idon't think so both went out at the same time. I checked the relays under the hood. And they seem to control the lights by right side and left side.

I know this is a silly question but are the low beam bulbs blown out?

Headlight low beams blow simultaneously sometimes. Actually quite often, for some reason.

Check for voltage with a 12v test light or a voltmeter at the light bulb plug.

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. Problem with driver's side headlight; lowbeam works fine under daytime running. When I flip up for night time driving, the driver's side headlight goes out. Dying bulb or....?

The day time running lamps are the high beam lamps , just going through the DRL resistor . Your low beam bulb could be bad (open) . Check voltage with DVOM - digital volt ohm meter , there should be three wires at the headlamp socket , check the orange wire for battery voltage with low beams on .

I would want to check for a loose ground wire first. Fuses must be okay if the lights work "at times" correctly.
