Left rear wheel locking up. have drum off, need diagram of brakes

I need a diagram of rear brake system for a 2000 Dodge neon. I have the hub off but am pretty much running in the dark from there. If I knew how to back off the adjuster I could at least get it to a shop. Anyone?

Back the adjuster to the point you can just trun the caliper or the drum with little force. you will hear a little rubbing sound from the brake pad.

How do I get rear brake drum off?

You should jack up securely the rear end, and then remove the lugnuts to the wheels and remove the wheel.

Then, you may need a heavy hammer to tap on the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions of the rear brake drum to loosen it up.

---
Here are instructions from Chilton/Haynes manual:

Drum Brakes Brake Drums Removal & Installation To Remove:
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2. Raise the vehicle.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Rear tire and wheel assembly
    • Brake drum retaining clips (if equipped).
    • Brake drum.
NOTE: If the drum does not come off, further brake clearance can be obtained by backing off the brake automatic adjuster screw. Remove the rubber plug from the top of brake support plate. Rotate the automatic adjuster screw in an upward motion, using a screwdriver.
To Install:
  1. Install or connect the following:
    • Rear brake drum onto the hub assembly
    • Wheels
  2. Adjust the brakes as necessary
  3. Road test vehicle to check brake operation.

Can you tell me if it takes special tools to remove the rear brake hub and brake line

No, there are no special tools required beyond everyday hand tools.

Raise the vehicle.
Remove the rear wheel and tire assembly from the vehicle If the vehicle is equipped with rear drum brakes, remove any retainer clips from the wheel mounting studs, then pull the brake drum off the hub and bearing.
If the vehicle is equipped with rear disc brakes perform the following:
Remove the two guide pin bolts securing the front disc brake caliper to the steering knuckle.
Remove the disc brake caliper from the knuckle and brake rotor.
Hang the caliper out of the way using a wire hanger or cord. Do not support the caliper by letting it hang by the hydraulic hose.
Remove any retainer clips from the wheel mounting studs, then pull the brake rotor off the hub and bearing.
Remove the dust cap from the hub and bearing assembly
Remove the retaining nut, then the hub and bearing from the knuckle's spindle

After aplying E-brake, Left rear wheel is locked up?

The parking brake cable is not releasing, usually due to corrosion within the cable jacket or inside the drum if it has drum rear brakes. Put the rear end up on jack stands and have a helper push and release the parking brake and watch what the cable is doing on both sides. You should be able to see the hang up. If it is inside the brake drum you may want to try a bit of WD40 applied to the cable where it enters the backing plate. Do not go overboard with it as it will collect inside on the drum's braking surface.

My 2005 dodge neon made a clunk noise and then the passenger rear tire locked up. Up until this point it drove fine. Help!

Your problem would appear to be something amiss in the rear brake on the locked wheel. If a wheel sylinder was leaking the brake shoes would become "sticky" and cause the shoes to "lock on" to the drum. Or if the brake was out of adjustment, the assembly could come apart and pieces of it jamb the wheel. This problem is fairly common with drum brakes. You need to have the rear brakes serviced, & checked for fluid or grease on the braking surfaces. All leaks fixed, backing plates cleaned, the wheel cylinders overhauled, & the brake shoes replaced.

I can't get the brake drum off ofrom my 2005 dodge sx2. Imy brake is locked up and I can't remove the brake drum to get to it. My driovers side wheel won't turn

Look underneath it on the inside of the wheel. There should be an oblong rubber grommet, or hole it it's gone. Peer inside with a flashlight or check the other side for for the tensioner wheel for the self adjuster. Soin that wheel to release pressure from the drum.

Right rear brake is locking up on my 2000 dodge neon. what do i do?

Check to see if it is drum or disc first. Depending on which one it is, it could be a simple adjuster problem for drum brakes or if it is disc breaks you may have a bad caliper. The only way to find out is to take it apart and look at what the car has for brakes.

I have a chrysler neon 2000, recently I noticed that the brake oil is leaking for the left side rear wheel. what could the problem be? thanks

If it is leaking from the top area of the plate, and you have drum brakes...then the wheel cylinder is leaking.
