Need a compatible CD player for 1998 BMW 528i.

Wanting to purchase a CD player to replace the current cassette player. Have a dash mounted Pioneer DEH-2100IB that someone gave me as a gift. Will it work or can you recommend the most compatible CD player. Thanks!

It should work as long as you buy the correct wire harness for your car go to an auto parts store and look for the harness for your make and model also if you want to get it proffesionally installed where ever you go should carry the harness so you shouldnt have to buy one if thats the path you choose

Radio shuts off
If ur radio is bad maybe your antener has come lose at rear of head unit... some systems also earth through the antener so this could cause it to shut off. Hope this helps.. Craig

Where do you hook up a scan tool to read trouble codes on a 1998 bmw 528i?
Hi!!

All 1996 and newer BMW vehicles utilize a "D" style plug-in connector that connects to the code reader. On most vehicles the connector is located under dash board driver's side right under steering column.

I just recently purchased a 1998 528I and would like to know about the struts.
the struts are a macpherson style strut system and if its a 98, i would go ahead and replace them with "bilstein" or ones from bmw. youll love the ride. great little cars and enjoy your purchase.

Would like to put the original CD changer/player
To put the original back in just hope the harness behind the radio wasant cut into. If its not it should just plug right in and mount back up in the stock location.

as far as the cd changer. if you would want to add one. you would need to find the changer, harness and headunit from a model with one.
