98 saturn wont start unlI have to hold the gas pedal to the floor to get it to start

fuel, oxygen, and spark. Check all of these. Is it getting air. Is your filter clean. Are you getting spark. if not check your plugs wires and coil. finaly check your fuel. Are you getting enough fuel. Replace the filter, make sure you are getting enough psi's before the injectors. also make sure the fuel pump is working.

You will probably need to put your car on a computer scanner.

I have a 01 and it was doing the EXACT same thing, I just changed the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor and it compleatly fixed my problem!!

Have you tried replacing the O2 sensor and having your fuel injectors cleaned and checked? It sounds like it could be a fuel problem / emissionsproblem.
