Get the fuel filter checked when its in no start condition in hot weather. Also disconnect the FPR and see if that is making any difference.FPR means fuel pressure regulator. If disconnecting the fuel pressure regular helps the engine to start in hot weather then its FPR problem. ----------------- If its not starting in hot weather or taking time to start in hot weather then problem is related to glow plugs. This glow plugs needs to be checked and replaced. Also try cleaning the glow plugs then recheck.------------------But if the car is running normally but it stops when it gets hot/warmed then in that case glow plugs are not faulty. In that case the fuel pressure has to be checked. If fuel pressure is low then fuel pump and fuel filter are to be replaced to solve the issue.---------- Also check the fuel filter seal.If this seal is loose, then tight it and check. If the seal is cracked or loose then it can cause this problem. When its cold the seal gets contracted and when it gets hot it expands and the fuel pressure must be loosing. The seal on the fuel filter could be the issue, try and give it a 1/4 turn more unless its on really tight. And make sure the bleeder valve up top is good as well as the Water sensor on bottom is tight too. There is no electric fuel pump on these trucks; the CP3 (high pressure pump) sucks the fuel from the tank by itself....thats why any pinhole leak anywhere in the fuel line/filter/system will make it hard to start.-----------But when you start the truck then fuel pump runs for few seconds and this makes the fuel run through the pump to the engine. If you notice the fuel is running there and if you see wetness at the engine side of fuel pump, then its faulty glow plugs causing this. But if no wetness noticed then its fuel pump and fuel filter issue. ------------------- This troubleshooting procedure will help you to solve the problem,by detecting the faulty part.Thanks.Helpmech.

You may be low on coolant - or have an air bubble in the heater core! Make sure you have the right antifreeze and mix 50/50 with water. Start car, turn heater on max heat full blast and fill reservoir with coolant. If you have access to the radiator cap I would fill from there. This is a pressurized system, so it may blow some coolant out at you. Squeeze upper radiator hose to ensure it is full, cap radiator and now recheck the reservoir. If this doesn't help, you'll need to raise the front of the vehicle so the radiator cap is above the heater core hoses. Remove cap, start engine with heater and blower on high and fill radiator. Cap radiator before you lower the car and you should be good. Keep an eye on the coolant reservoir as you may have a leak which would cause the low coolant symptom. You also have a sensor to tell you is you are low on coolant. If you are and it is not lighting up, you may want to have it ( the sensor) tested and replaced.
Good luck!!

Change the fuel filter! Make sure the air filter is clean also. The fuel filter is near the rear door on the inside of the frame rail. Good luck!

SOURCE: wont start

You may have broken your timing belt. If so, there is probably engine damage and the head will need to be rebuilt. $$$$$$

SOURCE: 92 s-10 after engine warms wont accelerate

could be trash in fuel filter or around pickup screen in tank. While driving everything sticks to them like magnet when you shut off and it sits it all falls off to happen again when you start the vehicle again

My toyota tazz 1300, 1999. wont start in the morning unless i give it a bit of accelerator but during the day it starts perfectly. Another problem it gives me, the engine is over heating very fast eve

Cold starting used to need a control on the car called a choke. Modern cars have a modern equivalent. It could be that when the engine is cold from being unused overnight it has a build up on the injectors and the extra push of fuel from the accelerator is helping overcome this issue.
At any auto store or garage, you can find fuel additives to clean the injectors and fuel system, in the UK we have Redex that does the job.
Find something similar, run it through your fuel and you should find the issue is better.

2003 chev impala cold engine every thing works properly. drive until engine is hot go into store for 30 min.to start engine i have to press accelerator just a little.

Clean out your throttle body, the IAC (idle air control) valve may be sticking from carbon build up. You can get a can of throttle body cleaner at Auto Zone or most auto parts store and follow the instruction on the can.

Make sure you use all of the can and you may want to do it twice with two cans of throttle body cleaner just get it all cleaned out. The IAC controls the amount of air enters the engine to get it started and to idle smoothly with the different loads. A stuck IAC valve will give issues to what you have described.

Thank you for using fixya and be safe.

My '85 chev k20 wont start unless i press the gas, then runs perfect

It probably has a carburetor. You have to press the accelerator to set the choke. Sometimes, when it is cold, you have to press several times to spray gas into the engine in order for it to start. This is normal for a car with no fuel injection.
