98 explorer fog light always on

98 explorer.
Fog lights and interior lights are on even when the truck is shut off. The fog light on/off switch does nothing. I can turn the interior lights off with the switch.
I would assume a short or bad relay but not sure where to start looking.
Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks

Reference your owners manual for relay location, if you do not have one you can download it at www.fleet.ford.com , the relay for the fog lights should be under hood in power distribution box, ford relay are notorious for hanging up in closed and open positions, pull the relay and see if the lights go out? if so replace relay, try the same for interior lights, that relay should be inside in the fuse box. hope this helps, let me know

Fog lamps shut off when i put brights off?

check with the service dealer as it may be a legal requirement where you are that you cannot run both lights at the same time . If you can run the main beams then there is no reason to use the fog lights as they serve no useful purpose.. Fog lights a re situated down low and are designed to shine under the fog ( fog is always about 12 " from the ground) and reflect the road markers so that you can see where the road goes and the light is not refracted back as a white sheet in the fog as your main lights do.

2005 avalanche Fog lights are staying on with

The fog lamps are computer controlled .the body control module (BCM) will energize the fog lamp relay control circuit. The BCM receives the park lamp ON signal from the interior park lamps supply voltage signal circuit.
DTC B2527 Front Fog Lamps Circuit Low
The body control module (BCM) monitors the front fog lamp switch signal circuit in order to determine when the fog lamp relay is to be energized. When the BCM senses that the front fog lamp switch signal circuit is grounded momentarily by pressing the fog lamp switch, the BCM energizes the fog lamp relay by grounding the fog lamp relay control circuit.

Your best bet , take it to the dealer . Could need BCM replaced , would need to do testing using the Tech 2 scan tool . A new BCM has to be programmed .

Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement
If the body control module (BCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the following order:
BCM Reprogramming--Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Computer/Integrating Systems.
Important: This procedure has to be performed only for vehicles equipped with the Passlock™ System.
Theft Learn--Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent. A new BCM will learn the Passlock™ information automatically, but the powertrain control module (PCM) must still learn the theft information from the BCM.

99 cherokee fuse for the fog lights. I can find the fuse and both of them don't work and the switch doesn't even light up

On late model XJ's, fog lights operate on fuses #3 & #4 (in your interior fuse panel), which also control the drivers side head light plug....

Hope help with this (remember rated and comment this).

to turn on the fog lights, its the same switch that you use to turn on your head lights. Turn the dial to the right to turn on your head lights and then pull it towards you. thats how you turn your fog lights on

98 Jeep Cherokee Fog lights

It's definitely the switch...I bought two of 'em so far...known bug. I don't use the fog lights as much anymore , but the "Airtex" oem equivalent switch from Rockauto seems to be holding up well. If you dissamble your broke switch you'll probably see evidence that it is beginning to melt and theres alot, maybe too much, grease, which may or may not have been the cause of the bad, heating contacts inside switch.
If I remember right, even though the foglights have a relay there is still full amperage going through the switch or something....don't qoute me on that last statement.

2001 Ford explorer sport fog lamps are not working. I just bought 2 brand new ones and they worked for two days then both went out at the same time. Also the button on the interior does not illuminate...

The light on your interior button should only come on when the lights are on, so I wouldn't worry about that until the lights are fixed. There should be a relay for your fog lights. I would check your underhood fuse relay box. switch that relay with another, such as fuel pump. I lights come on and now vehicle won't start, you know that it is the relay you have now put in your fuel pump circuit from your fog lamp circuit.
