Not going down could just be the arms are stuck have someone help you. One person applies outside pressure at the top of the arm inwards while the other push the button. Prior to doing so you may want to clean and lube the wheel channel in the top.

How to remove and replace RIGHT HAND sun visor With lighted mirror on 2004 venture van ?

Remove the screws from the sunshade mounting plate. Pull downwards in order to disengage the sunshade from the roof. Pull down the sunshade in order to access the electrical connectors, if equipped with a vanity mirror. Disconnect the electrical connections from the sunshade, if equipped with a vanity mirror.
Important: Do not rotate the sunshade on shaft. Doing so may cause the sunshade to become mis-aligned and not properly retained.
Remove the sunshade from the roof.

Outside handle on 1997 Toyota Avalon will not open door

Since you can get the door open, half the battle is already won. Yes, open the door, pull the interior door panel and take a look around. Watch inside with a flashlight (towards the rear of the door) as you roll the window down to see if you can see what it's snagged on.
