The fuel pump relay is not servicable, it is integral to the central junction box.

if you replaced fuel pump i would look at backward wiring when replaced and i would start at the source of work if your vehicle was working fine before replacement then 9 out of 10 it will be your fuel pump wireing

sometimes when putting wireing back together the connectors have the missing clip and in turn you can turn the wireing in both directions now where positive is touching the ground on both sides of connector kris kross problem check your work this is crucial use a test light to find the right wires where they go

Fusible links will be under hood off of selonide, you will need test light to check because they will not always be obvious.

I understand that there is a relay box under the hood with 3 relays. Which is which I don't know. However if you are blowing the fuse TO the ecc relay, then the relay must be bad. This relay controls the spark.

20 amp fuel pump fuse keeps blowing. I replaced pump, fuel filter, altenator, fuel pump relay. could it be the fuse box itself?

People like to think they replaced the fuel pump and most really think they did. But I still ask, did you replace the in tank fuel pump?
.
Lets be clear, did you drop your fuel tank and remove the old fuel pump and replace it and your sending unit?.

Here's the thing, these units have electrical wires which once the coating wears off, leave the wires exposed (yes, immersed in gasoline) and they corrode and break and become a source of fire/explosion (see above where I mentioned bare wires immersed in gasoline, now imagine them igniting the fuel).

The fuse is designed to blow as a WARNING that something (in that fuel pump system) is not right, or needs repaired and or replaced.

Considering all that you have replaced thus far, this is what I would be investigating as a culprit and should not be taken lightly.

Good Luck, and happy motoring

2001 ford expedition fuel pump fuse keep blowing with fuel pump disconnected

You'll have to start at the relay and check the circuits for a short to ground. Could be a faulty relay too.

2006 Ford Expedition blowing Fuel Pump Relay fuse

Try resetting fuel pump. I do believe the reset button is on the forward passengers side of vehicle. The button is behind the plastic shield. Reset once or twice. This hopefully will fix your problem. Look in your manual for exact placement of fuel pump reset button

Keeps blowing fuel pump fuse. Why?

This normally happens due to short in the wirings.Or if someone has connected a stereo or some other electrical contrivance to the wiring harness (bundle), either under the dash or under the hood.To confirm this unplug the fuel pump wiring connections and insert new fuse. Then start the car and see,if still the fuse blows then its a short in wiring. But if the fuse does not blows then its faulty fuel pump relay or faulty fuel pump itself. So first replace the fuel pump relay and see,if the fuel still blows then its faulty fuel pump. But if the fuse not blowing then relay was the faulty part. The fuel pump relay located on the fuse box under the hood.---------This troubleshooting tips will help you locate the fault and solve it.-------Thanks.Helpmech.

I need to know what fuse that powers the fuel pump in my 1999 ford expedition it has a 5.4 va 4 wheel drive

OK, there are fuses on the driver's side down below.

But, if you are having a fuel pump problem, it's likely that the fuse is alright and you need to replace the fuel pump. Same thing happened to our 1999 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer Edition. It quit working. And the inertia fuel cutoff switch didn't help, either (flipping or pushing it).

So, if you have no fuel coming, it may very well be the fuel pump.

We changed ours around 112000mi.
