code p 0501 refers to vehicle speed (VSS)--range /performance problem====causes wiring--speedometer---VSS sensor--CAN data bus
code p 0731 refers to gear 1--incorrerct ratio===causes --wiring -- TR sensor/switch--shift solenoids ---transmission mechanical fault
code p 0733 refers to gear 3 --incorrect ratio=== same causes as for p 0731 code
take the cehicle to an accredited transmission specialist shop as the problem is electronic and could ne a problem TCM, VSS or TR sensor, wiring or ECM unit
Hope, PO731 means Gear 1 incorrect ratio. a few things in/on tranny could throw this code something as simple as dirty trans filter,shift solenoid, trans control module to more serious internal damage. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck
"I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. Check out some of my other posts if you need more tips and info."
obviously refers to auto trans , could just need the trans fluid level topping up or even changing , if this does'nt resolve the problem then a more in depth diagnosis would be required at a repair shop as could be the ECU for example but do the fluid checks and go from ther ,keep me posted
It means that the transmission is not seeing the right values between the input and output speed sensors. Is the transmission stuck in second gear? Does the speedometer work?
P0715 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction
P0731 Gear I Incorrect ratio
P0732 Gear 2 Incorrect ratio
P0734 Gear 4 Incorrect ratio
It seems like you were having an issue with your transmission but if you cleared your light and it has stayed off I would just keep a close eye on it.
Hi, the premium system was just revamped and currently is having a little problem of not letting me post a solution to your premium question but I figured I would post the answer here for now until the problem is resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience and the time it has taken.

The codes you have are all gear ratio error codes fordifferent gears. The most likely cause to see all of these codes together wouldbe an input or output speed sensor. If your speedometer does not work, replacethe output. If it does work, I would recommend an input speed sensor. Thiscosts about $25 and is easy to replace.The speed sensors are on the left side of the transmission. You willneed a 1" socket to replace them. Let me know if you have any furtherquestions with this van. We have actually owned a few of these, so prettyknowledgeable with them.
