the first common possibilty would be to check fluid level, if the fluid level is good, I would recommend changing the transaxle fluid and filter. if this does not correct the issue, a professional transmission repair person will need to diagnose for you, good luck!

SOURCE: My transmission seems to not shift properly. I

forget the manual and throw it into back of garage ,now this expert ?? me only works on manuals because us spanish wouldnt give an auto box house room. Now if its not clearing properly when changing gear or its a job to get into first or reverse when stationary then its a new clutch job, some model cars have an adjustable clutch lever arm but if it gets to that stage where you have adjust it right out to get it to engage then its a new clutch time .Now hondas are not adjustable as such because they are hydraulic operated ,if it has clutch fluid then it sould work ok, but if the master cylinder is scored inside or the rubber is badly worn then could cause the problem ,get assistant to push clutch down and check movement on clutch arm ,if the arm starts to creep back when held down then the master cylinder needs changing ,but if it stays down then the clutch is worn even if it is not slipping ,the diaphragm spring clutch is going weak and the clutch plate isnt clearing ,or the clutch plate has heat distortion and its grabbing

Testimonial: "I think this is correct. I am going to check the fluids in my car, the problem might be no fluid. I have to check. Thank You"

SOURCE: automatic transmission

low transmission fluid will not effect the hand shifter performance..to check your fluid let the vehicle run untill the temp reading is in the middle then shut it off.and within 90 seconds remove the stick wipe clean reinsert the stick remove again and see where wet mark ends

It could be the shifter, but you can physically see if it is working by watching the shift linkage at the transmission while someone takes it through the gears. Doesn't even need to be running. If it is bad, you can get a salvage yard shift assembly and install it yourself in about 1 1/2 hours. If you are lucky and it is the shifter, that means you don't need a transmission ($2,000.00!).

I put my 1989 Honda Prelude engine (auto) into a 1988 shell with manual transmission, and now my revs stay high only when driving and changing gears. Was wondering if it is a vacuum hose issue and how

may need to swap the computer also.. manual computer is different..but yes.. be looking into any vacuum leaks..block off any open ports you find..

93 honda accord the automatic trans wont shift auto but works great shifting manually, how do I fix it

your having a transmission problem, common problem are the shift solenoids get dirty and won't let it shift, have them taken off and cleaned, they have little screens on bottom of them.change the fluid at same time. clicking noise is normal when you step on brake when in park this click is from the interlock solenoid under center console.

S3 light starts blinking after driving around for a little while. I also notice the speedometer will stop working and then starts back working. When I turn off the ignition this clear the blinking S3...

The transmission's electronic control module is most likely bad I had a 1989 prelude that had the same issue I had to replace the TCM on it after the S3 light came on but my problem was a problem shifting, if you have a electronic speed sensor for the trans. and not a speedometer cable the speed sensor may be bad if you have the cable type change the TCM (transmission control module)

Engine speed hunts on idle. Auto trans slow shift.

The fast idle valve is inside the throttle body. Sometimes it backs out and needs turned back in (it's threaded). This will cause the loping idle.

Get transmission filter changed with new fluid. Honda does not recommend transmission flushing.

Auto Gear hard shift

Either: Your low on transmission fluid, you need to replace the filter, or there's something wrong with the transmission.
