Code P0456 on 2003 Town & Country

I have a 2003 Town & Country Minivan. The engine light is on and I have never had that happen before. I had a code check done and the code read P0456. The dealer said there was an Evap leak. Could that be the only thing making the light stay on or could it be something else.?

Below are the possible causes for your engine light and error code:

Possible Causes:

  • EVAP fuel tank or canister vapor hoses leaking or damaged
  • EVAP system component leaking, fuel cap loose or missing
  • Leak detection pump damaged or leaking

The fuel cap is probably the most common cause of this problem. It's considered part of the emission system and if faulty or not place on the filler tube correctly, it will throw an error. Best of luck with your engine light issue. Take care!

You can check the fuses, but you really need an auto electrician. Their pro grade scan tool computer will diagnose the issue.

I had the same problem with two of my cars (Chrysler Town & Country minivan & Ford F150 Pickup Truck). Instead of using 87 fuel I used 91 fuel and bingo the noise is gone.

You may have a bad oxygen sensor, but there are a number of different things that could be wrong. Is your check engine light on? If your check engine light is on that means you have an electrical problem. If you take the van to a place such as Auto Zone or Advanced Auto they will hook it up to a computer or code reader, and they will be able to nerrow the problem down for you free of charge. The lights on the equalizer of a 2001 Town and country minivan just blink. The radio will not work. The battery was dead on the minivan for greater than 6 months. How can it be reset to work now?
YOU WILL HAVE TO GET THE CODE I BELEIVE,YOU WILL NEED THE SERIAL NUMBER OFF THE RADIO,IF THAT DON'T WORK I WOULD RECOMMENED REPLACING RADIO.

My 1998 Town & Country Minivan won't start. It turned over just like it would when operating normally. Thing is, the engine just quits out. I just had the battery charged, so I don't think it's that....
Spray some carbuerator cleaner into the air intake to see if it stays running, if so it may need a fuel pump.
