My 97 cavalier needs anew water pump, how do i replace it?
Depends on which engine if it's the 2,2 engine fairly easy but the 2.4 is a big job Timing Cover & Exhaust Manifold Removal Required. With the 2.2 locate water pump loosen the bolts on the pulley then remove the serpentine belt. Finish removing the pulley bolts now you can get at the water pump bolts. Use a container under the car to catch the antifreeze. Remove the water pump from the engine, installing new pump in reverse order to removal.
Removing the alternator also helps big time. 2 bolts on the front and 1 on the back
