If i let it sit, the battery drains extremely fast... sometimes completely dead. newer battery 18 month old Mopar.. nothing special and it HAS been cold altely... I hear this little whishing, whiring sound behind the glove compartment as well when it does run...
Look online but i have found a few were the clock was the issue. Pull the fuse to check his. if not the clock, look at all the grounds should be 3, or pull off neg cable use a test light clip to battery touch the cable & if it light there is a draw. You can pull each fuse 1 at a time to also help find the issue.

Just for thought try removing the light bulb under the hood, the socket my have gone bad and keeping the light on.
Good luck and keep me posted. Also not sure if your Liberty has one of the sun visor with a light switch on it, I found the one on my jimmy was always on thank's to my G/F putting things between the visor and ceiling.

Unit has a draw somewhere that needs to be addressed. I have found the auto starts sometimes can cause this. But if the draw is through the negative side it could be tough. You should take it to the dealer and have them perform a draw test on the entire vehicle.
SOURCE: 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee battery will drain
Ditto here on a 2005 jeep. We bought it new and found the battery dead on a few mornings the first year. Nothing left on. Did the new alternator thing about 2 yrs. ago and a few batteries along the way. This is what we noticed..... If you leave a CD in the CD player, that is the prime little devil that sucks out the juice. Now, we never turn off the car while a CD is in the dash. Now, maybe not necessary every time, but always overnight and now by habit, all the time, we make sure there is no CD inserted when the car is off. Hope this helps.

Have the alternator checked. An open diode will drain the battery

If you disconnect the negative battery cable and connect a 12V test light between the battery negative post and the negative battery cable terminal the light will burn if there's a draw. Make sure all electrical consumers are off and all doors closed when doing this draw test. If the light is on start pulling 1 fuse at a time until the light goes out, when it goes out that's the circuit that has the draw. Trace it from there.
