If its a three wire sensor one is a ground , one is the 5 volt refrence and the other one is the signal .Key on the 5 volt refrence shuld be about 4.8 signal should be under 1 but above .5
first, check your fuses on the blinkers. 1. open up the fuse console located either under the steering column, under the hood in a rectangular plastic box, on the passenger floorspace wall or the driver's floorspace wall. 2.look at the fuse diagram and there should be a fuse category for your turn signals. switch the fuse with a new fuse or a like fuse that you know works (check the voltage;5,10,15,20,25,30). 3.try the signal. -if that doesn't work it's most likely the bulbs. if THAT doesn't work then you need a multimeter voltage detector and/or one of those wire tracers to locate the short in the wiring.
First I would go back and check out the turn signal switch to make sure you install that correctly. Look for shorts or wires that could be grounding out. Go to the library and getting a wiring diagram and find out everything that goes to that fuse. Also if the truck is rusty check all the body grounds. Good luck.
Many cars have two flashers. One for hazard lights & one for signals. Check the turn signal flasher, if ok, check the turn signal switch. A wiring diagram will help a lot.
Hello;
Have you looked at a Haynes or Chitons vehicle specific book? They usually have the wiring diagrams in the electrical section. If not the library often has the high end books with the diagrams you can trace or photocopy.
Hope this helps.
Thanks;
