Look under the steering in the compartment for the manual. Look to the right, fuses are n the back of the compartment.

    The small numbers written on the fuses are the amp values When you replace a fuse use one with same value.

    When a fuse blows you can generally see it burned out if you look closely at it. Or you can use an ohmmeter if you know how to check resistance with it.

    Look to see if you see a diagram for the fuse layout that tells what each fuse controls. If you do not have that, you will have to look at all of them.

    The wiring diagram is at;

    If the unit was not wired in so it would stay on, it may be a bad relay or something not switching off. You might see what else is still on when the key is removed.

    You can trace it through the wiring diagram or wiring.

Vw polo 6n cd player has power but does not light up or play music

what color is the wire..it may be a memory lead..yellow or orange..some even have a power wire to the antenna so it will raise when the power is turned on..also may check the switches inside the unit that work with the eject part of the system..

Ok, so my CD player, Cigrette Lighter, and Electric mirrors have all stopped working, not to bothered about them except the CD player, Ive been told its prob a blown fuse, this sound likely? If so where...

That same exact combination of items is on the same fuse in the grand vitara and is a common problem. on the vitara the fuse panel is to the left of the driver's knee. most likely in same spot on your car. the fuse in question was the bottom most forward fuse in the panel. you can just pull them out one by one until you find the burnt one and replace it with one of the same amperage. thereafter discourage folks from using the lighter.

Snapped alternator belt

if its a similar engine to the standard vw's then you can bend the spring loaded tensioner right behind the alternator with a spaneer (shifting spanner works well) and it loosens the belt.
