If its not from the water pump or hose it is most likely from a rusted out welch plug , This happens if the coolant is not replaced when needed . To do a good repair replace them all . For a bit extra money find brass plugs, end of problem . replace with good coolant.
Check the condition on your hoses attached to the radiator. Does it only leak with the engine running? If it comes out right away, have some add water to the coolant reservoir while you check where the leak is coming from...this would be a cheaper way to diagnose it (water is way cheaper than coolant). Make sure you have a bucket or a tray under the car to catch any fluids that are leaking. Also, make sure you dispose of coolant properly (do not pour down drain, take fluids to a local repair shop)

Hi Heather,it may be your water pump leaking or a radiator hose.Keep water in it,keep a jug in the vehicle,if it's the water pump, then it will leak when it is parked, keep the over flow container full.
If the cooling system is loosing coolant and there are no leaks onto the ground, or if the cooling system is building up too much pressure, the problem could be a blown or leaking head gasket. A mechanic would use an exhaust gas analyzer to "sniff" the radiator for exhaust gas. The radiator can also be capped and checked for pressure coming from the engine.
WAIT UNTIL YOUR ENGINE IS COLD,YOUR RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP IS LOCATED ON THE COOLANT OVER FLOW RESERVOIR, THATS WHERE YOU ADD COOLANT WHEN COOLANT LOW,YOU POUR COOLANT IN THE OVER FLOW RESERVOIR UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL REMAIN AT FULL COLD MARK DONT OVER FILL OVER FLOW RESERVOIR, WHEN COOLANT LEVEL STOP DROPPING WHEN ADDING COOLANT AND COOLANT LEVEL STAY AT COLD MARK ON THE RESERVOIR YOU RADIATOR HAS THE CORRECT COOLANT LEVEL IF COOLANT LEVEL KEEP DROPPING CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS AROUND RADIATOR AND THE TOP AND BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSES, LOOK FOR COOLANT LEAK AT WATER PUMP GASKET OR SEAL OR LEAK AT WATER PUMP WEEP HOLE IF YES REPLACE WATER PUMP.
REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP.IF COOLANT LOW, ADD MORE COOLANT THROUGH COOLANT OVERFLOW UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL IN THE COOLANT OVERFLOW STAY AT FULL COLD MARK.REASON POUR COOLANT THROUGH COOLANT OVERFLOW MOST GM CARS DONT HAVE RADIATOR CAP.WHEN YOU GET COOLANT LEVEL OKAY, CRANK CAR LET IT IDLE UNTIL ENGINE GET HOT BUILD UP PRESSURE THEN TURN OFF CAR.CHECK FOR COOLANTS LEAKS AT THE RADIATOR HOSES,CHECK FOR LEAKS AT THE RADIATOR, CHECK FOR LEAKS AT WATER PUMP WEEP HOLE IF YOU SEE COOLANT LEAKING FROM WEEP HOLE REPLACE WATER PUMP. IF CAR OVERHEATING WHILE IDLING YOUR COOLING FANS NOT WORKING CHECK COOLING FANS FUSE AND RELAYS.IF FUSE AND RELAYS OKAY THE ENGINECOOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR BAD.
Always check your hoses for leaks. Check also if your radiator has water while engine is shut off. Add water to your radiator and add the coolant in the reservoir if its empty. Start it and observe your engine while running and check the hoses if anything is leaking. Check underneath of the car if something is dripping. Observe your temp gauge if it rises. If you don't find anything leaking, you could check your radiator only after you let the engine cool down. If the water is drained inside the radiator, then the radiator could be busted. If you have a perfectly fine radiator and the hoses do not leak, then it could be the water pump that's defective. If you are unsure about the problem then have it checked in your local dealership or your friendly neighborhood mechanic.
Hello, Youprobably have a leaking water pump, The water pump is on the backside of that end of the engine. You need a special tool to change the water pump. Thank you.
You have a bad casting plug in the side of the engine. A lot of people call them freeze plugs because they pop out if the coolant freezes. They also rust through. They are driven in place and the size can be looked up at the parts store. You will want to change all of them . Lee
