SOURCE: liftgate will not unlock

if it was mine I would take the rear inside door panel off and see if there is any rust or bind in the power door lock motor itself and also make sure that no one has broken a key off or stuck anything in the lock cause I had an expedition with this same problem and it was a broken key in the lock

SOURCE: interior dome lights wont activate wh en doors

If none of the interior door lights work, check the fuse, and check the bulb. If they are both ok, then you may have a bad relay or switch but you will have to trace the wiring which is a pain.

SOURCE: 2001 Cadillac Deville driver door key entry not turning to unlock

I am having the smae problem starting this week. Key fob has been broken for several months (and on a 2001 Cadillac you HAVE to go to dealer to program a new one.) So I've been using the key-- no problem.
FIrst thing others need to understand. The 2001 Deville has a key entry on the Driver's door ONLY-- not any other door. So you can't just go to anotger door.
Secondly-- I am trying my 'main' key, which admittedly has some wear. But I am also trying my "spare" key which has practically no wear at all-- so this is not an issue of a worn-out key. Both have worked fine in the past.

What happens is that the door lock all of a sudden will not let the key go all the way into the lock. YOu can feel it being stopped for the last 1/8 of an inch or so-- just enough so you can't turn the key in the door lock. Seems like some kind of messed up security feature. But all I know is I cannot get into my car, parked in my garage!

HELP! Interior lights (map and dome) dim but do not go out. Fuse removed.

There is a short between the dome light and the door switches, this can be caused by something as simple as water damage. check all the wires and switches before you think it is the BCM.

The dome light will not come on when I open the doors.

Try the flat button above the round knob that controls the instrument panel. It sort of looks like a switch plate but its actually a switch.

Courtesy dome lights on, radio power issues, AC vents not blowing

Is there an off switch for the dome light? I'm guessing it'll be one of the switches that tells the sensor that your doors are closed and turns off the light.. switch will be on the frame of the car near the latch anchor.

If the lighter sparked, there may be a short (exposed wire) behind the lighter assembly. You may want to remove the lighter harness and check the wires.

It sounds like the dial that controls the direction of the air is not functioning properly. There's also a flap / pivot inside the vent assembly just above the blower (located in dash usually behind glove compartment) that controls which pipe the air goes into.
