Replace the complete distributor. They are available on Ebay, brand new for a bout $100. or at any auto parts store for a little more. It sounds like the module inside the distributor popped but it could be one of the pick-ups, or maybe the coil as well. Rather than wasting a lot of time and money trying to figure out which one, just get a complete new distributor. It comes complete with a new cap, rotor, module, coil, pick-ups.
These are a very, very common problem.

Crank but no start

Might have a weak spark. I'm thinking it should be more white/blue. Might need to clean the spark plugs if they have a lot of build-up. A little fine grit sandpaper will help, but just enough to clean the spark gap.

Hi there!!! i need help!!!! the other day i was looking over my 95 honda civic ex and i took one of the spark wire off and i forgot to put it back on. I drove around the block and it misfire than the car...

check the spark plug wire for any nicks or burns and sometimes the spark plug could be broken and you just cant see it so if you left it somewhere where something could happen to it i would check that out. i dont see your timing jumping unless the tension was loose. also i know how much an engine viberates when you are missing a plug so check for any loose wires. good luck

95 honda civic hatchback wont start

Did you hooks the the spark plug wires right. If these are not in the right order then you will have a misfire. If enough of them are out of place then you wont have enough fire to start the engine.

89 honda civic swap car wont start

Backfires usually mean it's still out of time, either engine wise, spark wise, or injector wise. I'd pull the cap and inspect the ignition coil if it's that style. Hondas are the easiest cars to get spark plug wires mixed up, even the pros do it every so often. I'd also make sure all your injector connectors aren't swapped around, & definitely check all of your engine grounds. you could also have a bad timing belt tensioner or just be a few teeth off. I always triple check the simple stuff over and over again cuz thats what it usually ends up being... hope this info helps...(subytech1)...

95 honda civic ex wont start cranks over but wont start

DID YOU HAVE SPARK IN THE SPARK PLUG WIRES WHAT YOU CAN DO IS TAKE OFF ONE OF THE WIRES FROM THE SPARK PLUG AND PUT A FLAT SCREW DRIVER INSIDE THE WIRE AND PUT IT CLOSE TO THE METAL SO THE WIRE GETS GROUND AND HAVE SOME ONE TO CRANK THE ENGINE AND YOU GOING TO SEE THE SPARK IF YOU DONT SEE SPARK SO THAT IS YOU POBLEM

I have a 1995 Honda Civic. When driving up hills

Check spark plugs and all related cables, fuel hoses, fuel filter (change if black but make sure lines and fuel tank are clean first), and air filter. If blank spots are experienced when power is lost completely then firing of spark plugs may be the issue. Possibly also related to insufficient fuel reaching combustion chamber. Available for more consulation after you do through the above recommended basic checks.

1995 Honda Civic Spark Plug Wiring

The spark plugs are numbered starting on the drivers side (1) to the passenger side (4), the distributor rotates clockwise, and the firing order is 1 - 3 - 4 - 2
