I have a 1998 Ford Festiva and the heater is not working. I have checked the fuse and the 30 amp fuse where it says heater, is ok. I checked it has volts there and when the fuse is in, the fan is working. When I move the slide control from the cold position to the hot position, now warm air comes out although I can hear the vent inside moving to another position.
CHECK THE COOLANT LEVEL. IF IT IS TOO LOW, THEN THE HEATER CORE WILL NOT GIVE YOU HEAT LIKE IT IS SUPPOSE TO. OR PERHAPS THE HEATER CORE IS CLOGGED. CHECK IT OUT AND KEEP ME POSTED PLEASE. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA AND FOR AN HONEST RATING TOO. GOOD LUCK
I WOULD BET THAT THEY WERE DISCONNECTED BECAUSE THE HEATER CORE IS LEAKING, IT THAT IS TRUE THEN IT WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED. NOT A FUN JOB. AT ALL. IT IS LOCATED UNDER THE DASHBOARD. I checked the radiator coolant level and it is full. Then when I looked behind the motor I noticed that two hoses have been disconnected, and caps have been put onto where they were connected to.
These two hoses go throught the fire wall, I assume to the heater element inside. I can easily reconnect these two hoses, only I am concerned why they were disconnected in the first place. I guess I will soon find out if I connect them.
