My 2005 santa fe 3.5 suddenly started running very rough the other day. the tac started jumping up and down and there was a bad odor i could smell then the engine light came on. i had it checked at auto zone and there are 7 codes that came up twice. P0300,P0301 through P0306. The guy at auto zone said that with 150,000 miles i probably have bad plugs, coils and wires. so i replaced them all and cleared the codes. NOT FUN! the car ran perfectly for about 20 miles then the same exact thing happened and thesame codes came up x2. what could be the problem?????

SOURCE: Hey there, 2005 Hyudai Santa Fe, with multiple

Each one of the codes indicate misfire, except p0320.

1. Check IG failure sensor (1) Connect IG failure sensor and PCM connector (2) Engine "ON" (3) Check that RPM meter on instrument panel is operating correctly and the signal waveform of IG failure sensor at terminal 4.

m0320-8.gif (4) Is the IG failure sensor normal? YES ??¶ Substitute with a known - good PCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. NO ??¶ Substitute with a known - good IG failure sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem

Went to start 2007 Santa Fe, and battery was dead. Jumped it; it ran, but all of a sudden running rough, no gas pedal functionality. Limp mode I suppose. Pulled codes 2106 1295 and 2135.

You have to do a throttle relearn procedure after disconnecting the battery. You'll also have to drive it a while so it can relearn its Keep Alive memory.

I smell gas

Sound like it could be quite a few things. Off the top of my head I would check that the car is firing on all cylinders. If one has gone down you will have fuel travelling along the exhaust pipe, which could explain the smell. If you have lost a cylinder it will be as rough as a badgers B*M, and you will get rubbish mpg. Check if you can smell fuel from the exhaust pipe (Not while the car is running I don't want you to get carbon monoxide poisoning), just give it a quick start and a few revs first. If it is or anyway If you take the plugs out one at a time look at them to see if they are wet and smell of fuel, (After a quick start and a rev). Check your air filter as well you could even take it out and see how it runs (Not for long just a quick blast) see how you go with that.
Good Luck

04 Santa Fe burning smell running ac....

Sounds like the A/C compressor clutch has overheated and become inoperable. Open the hood, start engine, observe the compressor face. It should be turning and also see if that's where the noise and burning smell is coming from.
Good luck!!!

I have a 2003 Santa Fe with 3.5 6cyl engine that is ideling rought & lots of missing off a stop. had codes PO001,03,05. Had wires & plugs replaced 2 weeks ago & still running rough. Now...

Do you mean P0301, P0302, etc? Misfire codes? You have 6 plugs, 3 coil packs, and 3 wires. cyl 2,4,6 are the ones in front, with the coil packs. It's possible they're bad.

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe was driving down the highway vehicle started losing power but was still started. I pulled over it smelled like gas so I shut the engine off. Vehicle would never restart.

Not enough information.
Normally the first things one thinks of is clogged fuel filter, failed purge valve causing too much tank vacuum, water in the gas, or even PVC foam coating the air mass sensor.
But none of those things causes a gas smell.
I would then think of a leaking hose connection, bad plug wire, weak spark, etc.
However, we would need to see or smell where the gas odor was coming from?
A leak is extremely serious because it could cause a fire, but very easy to see and fix.
An ignition problem would be harder to see and would require looking for fouled plug that was not firing well.
So you need to open the hood and tell us more.

Tempermental starting after fueling

It looks like your fuell tank is puting in to vacuum after filling try to start after you filled up with out closing the tank cap just to see if the problem is there if not its vacuum problem and you have to check your air intake in the tank
