2000 Dodge Caravan transmission issue

Yesterday, my transmission light came on in my 2000 Dodge Caravan. I had the oil/fluids checked & changed about 2-3 weeks ago. It made a "clunk clunk" noise started out, and had some hesitation but would get up to speed. I had a small transmission leak in the past, so added stop leak and fluid. This morning, the light is still on, it still runs to speed, but jerks and hesitates when starting out or slowing down.

Why does my 98 dodge caravan have trouble climbing hills?

A transmission issue would give vibration tremendously during uphill. If you're not getting the vibration, or burning smell of transmission fluid, suspect clogged catalytic converters.

2005 dodge caravan

P0700 is transmission control system malfunction. It could be a wiring issue, like the p0200-injector circuit malfunction. Are there any problems with the transmission? You may need the wiring and transmission controls checked out. If there are no issues with the transmission, erase the codes and try again.

I have a 2000 dodge caravan. When the engine is running with van in park engine runs fine. When put into a drive gear the engine runs really rough and even stalls. The transmission fluid is ok. When the...

Sounds like there is a problem with the Torque converter in the transmission or Transmission itself. When you put it in gear it should initially go into neutral but occasionally the transmission will stick part way in gear and partially in neutral putting a load on the motor. It is not enough of a load to get the vehicle moving but it is enough to stall the motor. This could be a simple clutch adjustment in the Automatic clutch to a PCV valve issue to a need to rebuild the whole transmission because of a problem with the control body or transmission pump itself. Sorry for the bad news.

Where do I put the transmission fluid in a 2000 dodge grand caravan with a 3.3 liter engine??

You add the fluid in the same place where you check the fluid for the transmission. normally a yellow stick labeled transmission and its under the hood on the driver side of course. 4 thumbs up is appreciated if this helps.

How much trans fluid needed after filter change on 1997 dodge caravan

My 1997 Caravan manual states that the trans fluid capacity is 8.5 quarts. However, in the transmission oil change section, it says to drop the pan, drain the oil, replace the filter and add 4 quarts of new fluid. This tells me that the torque converter is not draining so you are in fact, only changing "half" of the transmission fluid.

I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan SE 2.4L 4 cylinder motor. I had the transmission flushed almost 2 years ago and since then have put 12,000 plus miles on it. All I know is you are suppost to check the...

You need to, at the minimum, change the fluid & trans filter. Easy proceedure. With van jacked up & blocked so it won't fall, use a large collection tray under trans pan & remove pan bolts. let oil drain into tray. use screwdriver to pry pan off. clean pan thoroughly & trans matting surface. Remove filter. You may need to adjust low rev band. Check with dealer or parts store for proper clearances. Put new filter on & tighten bolt[s]. Use new gasket & rebolt pan. Use gasket sealer on pan side only. You'll need 4-8 qts. of the proper tranny oil. Fill through trans. filler hole. Start engine & let warm up, check level & don't overfill or you'll have to suction out until level.
