OBDII Codes I have a Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan, it has the check engine light on, I took it to get inspected and it came back with these codes: P0014, P0700, and P0973? Can you tell me what these codes mean and what needs to be fixed please?

SOURCE: service engine light

Good Day,

Code P0102 indicates MAF(Mass Air Flow) sensor circuit, low frequency detected

Code P0300 indicates Random Cylider miss fire, meaning missfire in more than one cylinder

The misfire could be a result of the mas air flow sensor being faulty.

Hope this helps for now

Let me know what size motor and if it's 2wd or 4wd and I can get detailed instructions for replacing

SOURCE: 2000 chevy silverado z71 check engine light will not go off.

you have to know what the code is that your truck putting out your truck has 4 O2 sensors. the trucks computer is smart and the code will tell you witch one is bad but if you replace just one the next one on the same exhaust pipe will probley go bad so its safe to replace all four. the draw back to replaceing all of them is thay cost about 80 bucks for one ACDelco O2 sensor. It has to be done before it will pass Emissions. not a hard part to change about a 7/8 open end wrench will take it off. have fun.

My trailblazzer keeps intermittly give engine codes P0014, P0449, P1400

p0014 is likely a camshaft solenoid valve, the p0449 is likely a evap vent valve or wiring, and a p1400 (sorry for this one) is likely a cylinder head. based on the codes you asked you have the 4.2l L6 motor.

I have a 2010 chevy cobalt. Engine power reduced light came on I took it to Autozone and had it scanned. Two codes popped up, p1682 and p0325. What could be wrong here?

As far as the cobalt, check tac/throttle actuator control. Below is circuit description for p1682.
The other codes was for knock sensor.

Orange light on dashboard came on. said check engine checked oil, water, fan belt etc all ok what is the light for? it's a 1998 excel sedan

You need to have someone hook up a scanner to the OBDII port (above the drivers knees) and scan the engine computer for 'thrown' codes-WRITE THE CODES DOWN and come back here with them so you can be directed to how to solve the problem. Virtually any commercial parts store will scan it for free.

I have a 2006 Buick Ranier. Took it to my mechanic who ran the diagnostic codes. These codes showed up: P0014, P0017, P0171, and P0860. Check engine light has been on. After driving it a distance at...

For the I6 engine....First thing I'd do is clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner for the first 2 codes, also change your oil.

P0014 is camshaft position solenoid actuator, probably dirty (change oil and clean this actuator)
P0017 deals with the same as above.
P0171 - Clean your MAF sensor, check for vaccum leaks around the resonator, did you hook the PVC hose back up?
P0860 is Gearshift module circuit low.......can take to a mechanic that has a Tech II or equal diagnostic computer, this can talk to the module to find out what the real deal is here.

Mil/check engine light smog test failed

If you are a DIY'er you can get a OBDII scan tool that connects to your laptop that can tell you the error code and allow you to reset your check engine light.

Check out http://www.fitityourself.netau.net/OBDII.html

Sometimes the check engine light comes on if you did not fit your gas cap tight enough. You need a code reader to find out the error code to help solve your problem.
If it is something simple (like a gas cap) and you do not want to get a code reader to find out what codes (problems) your vehicle computer is saying there is. You can try disconnecting the negative battery lead for 5 minutes. This should reset your check engine light. Drive and see how long it takes before it comes back on - this may help you pass the smog inspection...
