About a week ago, I noticed that the tach guage would go to zero even while the auto was running fine, Also noticed the battery charge guage was higher than 14 volts....it would go up to 10 volts...also noticed that the interior lights would dim slightly while the car was idiling in park....
Whacky gauges like that are usually a culprit of a ignition switch starting to go bad. Could also be bad stepper motors on back of the gauges.
I suggest you get one of those manuals people get nowadays to do it yourself..
My nephew use it to repair my car and it's totally repaired now. Here's the website he bought it from.
try reliable-store com
manuals costing as low as $4.. some even free
also try manualslife

SOURCE: headlights wont come on, but parking lights work...i dont get it
Was sent in by another poster, just posting his results which fixed mine. Problem was relay $50.00 at GM only.
Check the relay module. 45 or 46. on the engine relay block. you can
swap the two they are the same part number, then you will know. Dont
start the engine, just check the lights. If it works replace the relay
module. You may have to order the part from the parts store. Or go to
the dealer to get it.
SOURCE: 2004 chevy trailblazer won't come out of park
ok there is a few things one when a car is put in to park a pin slides in to the flywheel push the car forword and pu on the e-brake then try to pull the car out of park. also there is a push button under the brake pedal make shure it has a good conection and try that might need replaced.it controlls the brake lights and an electronic sencor to disengage the car from park by letting the car know the brakes are on.
SOURCE: 2006 Chevy Silverado alternator intermittent charging
Perfectly normal.
Starting with the 2005 model year, light duty full size pickups and
utilities are equipped with a new Regulated Voltage Control (RVC)
system. This system reduces the targeted output of the generator to
12.6-13.1 volts when in "Fuel Economy Mode" to improve fuel economy.
The generator may exit "Fuel Economy Mode" if additional voltage is
required. This will cause the voltmeter to fluctuate between 12 and 14
volts as opposed to non-regulated systems that usually maintain a more
consistent reading of 14 volts. This fluctuation with the RVC system is
normal system operation and NO repairs should be attempted.
