2007 Honda CR-V - high pitch sound when engine is cold

My 2007 Honda CR-V is making a high pitch sound when the engine is cold.  It happens when putting it in drive and after every time the automatic transmissions shifts.  I only hear it at the bottom of the gear and I hear it less or not at all as the RPMs pick up.  This is the AWD model.

You have a RFI problem that's radio frequency interference. you need and RFI strap for radio to radio attena or an RFI strap from chassis to engine. hope this helps. this is the only way to get rid of unwanted RFI. good luck!

What might cause a high pitch (alto) engine whine in a Honda CRV 2007?

Power steering pump. Fluid is either low or the pump is wearing out.

High-pitched whine upon cranking, suddenly sluggish, smells hot

It sounds like the water pump shaft bearing has frozen up. A hint here, always replace the idler pulley and water pump when you do the belt, they make kits for this and they have all the parts that wear out along with the belt. As long as the engine doesn't get to hot you should be ok.

2001 ford escape makes a hissing and high pitched squealing sound when the brake pedal is released?

You need to have the brakes inspected. This noise is the brake pad wear warning tab hitting the brake rotor.;

2007 Honda CRV, A/C quit blowing cold air today.

For best result you may be better off evacuating the system for 30 minutes or more, shut off the vacum pump and wait for 15 minutes to see if the gauge needle goes up? if it does not then add 2-3 cans and make sure you stay between 25 to 45 PSI while compressor on.

Check your power steering fluid level. If too low the pump will whine like that. Put some in it if low. Don't buy power steering fluid, automatic transmission fluid is the same thing and is much cheaper.

Does the high-pitch whine exist when the engine is just running? Not moving (transmission is not in gear)? Running but with transmission in neutral (coasting down hill)?

Is a 650 to 750 rpm idle low for a 2009 honda crv or is 650 normal?

That sounds pretty low to me.
It usually rests above 1000 then higher as the high idle solenoid engages for air conditioning.
If your A-C is on, your engine should increase idle.
Try starting with no AC then turn it on after the engine warms up.
