Could it be the master brake cylinder? I saw three other complaints of the same thing happening and it was that?

its possible, but if the brake cylinder wasn't releasing, wouldn't all 4 brakes lock up? I guess you could have bad brakes on one wheel. Dunno, but would it be feasable to loosen up your brake lines and see if it would release the pressure, then rebleed the system?

SOURCE: brake vsc off and abs lights are on

Krafty930 with brake, VSC off and ABS lights on. You share a common problem with many Toyota owners. My 2003 Sequioa has the same issue. There is no solution. Dealers will replace the air sensors and then the computer all for $2,500 - $3,500. This will not solve the issue. The internet has thousands of complaints re this problem, but Toyota has disowned the issue and declined resolution, even for vehicles under warranty. The lights drive me crazy and I still don't know if there is a functional problem, a wiring problem or a computer problem with the VSC system. To date, I have learned of no reports relating this problem to vehicular deaths, so I really am not holding my breath waiting for Toyota to provide a solution. Sorry that you share this problem, but perhaps my response will help to stop you from "spinning your wheels" too much trying to resolve this issue.

2006 Saturn Ion, What cause a car to pull to the right when driving down the highway what I need to check?

When exactly does it pull to the right? Driving, braking, accelerating?
First check your Brakes. This a common cause for 'pulling'. Brake systems can either 'Stick On' causing the vehicle to pull while driving, or 'Seize' causing it to pull when pressing the brake pedal.
Worn out rubbers and bushes in the suspension can also knock the vehicle 'off balance' especially when cornering.
Driveshafts can also cause problems but these are usually noisy and a lot less common.

My 4 wheel drive isn't working. why are my tires spinning on the littlest patch of ice?

Hi Correia,
Having four wheel drive built onto a vehicle gives traction through all four wheels, meaning that if one of the four wheels looses traction all the driving motion is directed through that spinning wheel. When driving on snow, ice or mud, gently does it all the time! Gentle acceleration and slow down using gentle gear changes. Use the brakes as little as possible. Remember if you lock up the brakes and the vehicle begins to slide you'll have no control at all! Traction control is entirely different than four wheel drive. Traction control will control any wheel which begins to slip and thereby keep you in control.

What the best soultion for brakes locking up in the snow is there better brake pad to use for that

No, there are no different pads, you just have a very sensitve brake system in your car, try usung the emergency brake when driving in the snow. Slightly apply the emergency brake when you drive this will help balance the front and rear brake systems.

What is abs how it function

ABS is anti-lock braking system. It is a range of four sensors which monitor the braking capability when you apply the brakes. If you are harsh and stamp on the brake pedal there is a risk of the wheels locking up and sliding (screeching from the tires).

The ABS sensors modulate the brake caliper pistons andapply and let go the brakes very quickly. This stops the tires from skidding and you will feel a pulse through the brake pedal as the hydraulic system is forced to release the pedal slightly for a fraction of a second.

As ABS stops your car from skidding it allows you to turn the steering when you are braking hard. This is good news for avoiding accidents. If you lock the wheels on a non ABS car, you continue in the direction of the wheels - unless you release the brakes and reapply quickly (same method as ABS) this is called cadence braking but when involved with a potential accident the last thing on people's minds is to release the brake pedal. Having only owned older cars, cadence braking is one method I've learned, especially from driving in the snow.

I hope this helps you and please vote for me :)
