Testimonial: "Thank you it ended up being the fuse in the under the hood the first time I I didn't have to replace it I just took it out and put it back in it worked for two weeks and then I took it out and put it back in and it's been working for like years ever since whenever I originally posted this. SOURCE: 2005 town & country electric door locks quit working

the door locks are controlled by the body computer and one of the switches may be bad. When you pull the fuse you are clearing the computer codes and the locks work fine until that switch acts up. once the computer sets a code for a shorted or stuck switch all switch inputs are ignored until you pull the fuse and reset everything. Could also be a bad wire to the switch or a bad computer.

There is an ecu flash for this repair. You may get the locks to start working again with a battery disconnect.

My power door locks quit working

try looking for a fuse that powers them on the fuse panel inside the vechicle, there is also a fuse panel under the hood on most newer vehicles too. just look at the fuses one by one or look in the owners manuel for the location of the fuse that powers the door locks. if that does not work i would take it to a shop and have a mechanic look at the wiring.

My 2005 Chrysler Town and Country drivers side window won't work. Is it a fuse? My power door locks have not worked for over a year either but I know that part isn't a fuse.

Your power window switch more than likely went bad, try replacing it. IT happened to me and i replaced the switch and it worked again

Power door locks stop working

THERE IS A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR YOUR BODY CONTROL MODULE..YOUR LOCAL DEALER IS, AS FAR AS I KNOW THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO THIS..TAKES ABOUT AN HOUR TO DO..REMOVING THE FUSE IS A TEMPORARY FIX..HAVE DONE MANY OF THESE UPDATES MYSELF..IT WILL CURE YOUR PROBLEM..TALK TO YOUR DEALER

The electric door locks quit working on an 05 T&C. is there something that I can do without going to the dealer? I pulled ioc fuse several times.it only works for a short time after that

I don't know if this will help but the electric door lock (driver-side, rear, sliding door) of our '05 T&C stopped working and the mechanic (was shopped for minor wreck damage) indicated that the lock actuator was at fault and he had none in stock. It did not get replaced and, of course, still is not working - electrically.

Power door locks don't work with remote or manul

Look for fuse or relay problem. A bad (shorted) door lock switch can also cause trouble. Need to dig in and start looking at each component one at a time.

good luck

Door locks

Daughter had same problem on '05 T&C. Neighborhood mechanic searched Internet and found 80-90 others with same problem right around 40,000 miles. Free solution was to pull yellow 20A IOD fuse in right front corner of fuse box under hood, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert fuse. Should solve problem as long as you don't lock doors with FOB. You can unlock doors with FOB, but apparently locking with FOB causes the problem.

Permanent solution is to have dealer reprogram computer for around $50 which is what my daughter chose to do because of inconvenience of not being able to lock doors with FOB when getting baby/carseat out of vehicle.
