Never seen oil come from tail pipe (unless a piston has a broken ring or a hole burned in it.) Cooling sensor tells the computer the engine temp and the computer turns the fan on through the fan relay. Very important for it to work. A blown head gasket will make the engine overheat, can cause white smoke from tailpipe, coolant loss and extremely rough running. Also can cause coolant in engine oil or oil in radiator. What you may be seeing may be water mixed with carbon from the inside of the pipe. Excessive water coming form pipe is also a head gasket symptom. A compression test or cylinder leakdown test or a radiator hydrocarbon test will tell you if gasket has failed.

I see you just posted again about coolant sensor....how did you verify broken ring? Also, if you have a broken ring, you don't intend to drive it like that do you? (you will do further damage to engine)

I need to know how to tell if i have a blown head \head gasket

If you car is overheating often and white smoke come out the tail pipe when running, good chance it is. Easiest way it to check is the fluid in the radiator - look for oil floating on the top. If your cooling reservoir (off white container connected by a smaller black hose to the radiator) has fluid in it, check it or you can open the radiator cap (only when the engine is cool - hasn't been running - don't touch it until it's sat for a few hours if you used it) and use a turkey baster or similar to pull some fluid out. If you see some oil floating, it's most likely a head gasket.

Hi, If you see white smoke coming from tail pipe then you will know it is leaking through engine.
I would suggest after you replace head gasket, that you put new radiator fluid (50/50) mix and a new thermostat in. The fluid will keep it from boiling over. Good luck.

white smoke from the exhaust and overheating would almost certainly mean a blown head gasket.
the head gasket has gone between a cylinder and a cooling channel so exhaust gasses can get in to the cooling system resulting in the boiling and water from the cooling system is getting into the cylinder resulting in the white smoke (actually steam) from the exhaust.
the exhaust manifold is a separate issue that can be replaced when the head gasket is repaired.

How do i tell if i have blown head gasket

The signs for a blown head gasket are:
1 - The car oveheats above 195F.
2 - The cooling system is loosing coolant, low coolant level.
3 - The coolant start boiling and owerfloing from the coolant bootle.
4 - Mixture of coolant in oil, or oil in coolant.
5 - White smoke from the tail pipe.
The diagnoses to reveal a blown gasket are.
1 - Radiator compression test. Can be done at any car reapair shop for $30.
2 - Static cylinder compression test. Can reveal at which cylinder is the blown gasket (pression low, or zero). This is very important at V6 or V8 engines.

Sounds to me like they did a bad head job. No pun intended. lol, White smoke indicates moisture in exhaust but black smoke indicates a oil leak. I would take it back and have them check the job they did. If the car is over heating then the head gaskets are pretty much blown.

Radiator emptying but no signs of water leaking out where can it be going oil not cloudy

you have an aluminum head(s) on your car. my brother went through this, and My customer had a similar experience on his car. A blown head gasket does not always put fluids in your oil. it will blow straight out your tail pipe, and I've seen where it leaks down on the block with a cracked head or block. best thing to do right away is to have a pressure check run on your engine and cooling system before you have any major damage.
