My 2013 elantra suddenly wont accelerate past 10 mph the check engin light came on and the car bucks and wont rev past 1000 rpm
SOURCE: car lurches and bucks, rpms erratic on acceleration on hills
You could have any of these problems:
1) vacuum leak- broken air hose or disconnected air hose.
2) water in the gasoline- add a water remover to you gas tank.
3) bad or disconnected spark plug wire(s).
If this were my Forester, I'd take it to a mechanic who has a electronic engine tester..
SOURCE: Engine revs up to 3000-4000 rpm all by itself
THERE IS A TEMPERATURE SENSOR ON MOTOR WHICH CAUSES THIS PROBLEM... USUALLY IT SHOWS A NEGATIVE TEMP READING WHICH CONFUSES THE COMPUTER CAUSING IT TO REV UP....HAVE THE ENGINE DIAGNOSED ON A SCANNER....GOOD LUCK...

Drop in to an Autozone, or Pep Boys, or similar big parts store & they will usually scan for codes free. This will hopefully eliminate all the guess work, or at least point everyone in right direction for better diagnosis. If not obvious from codes what the problem is, get back to us and we'll help you out.
Testimonial: "Thanks for the great suggestion . I'll have Autozone read the codes on Monday. Thanks again!"

could be afew things. vacuum leak, one dud HT lead, could be the water temperature sensor, O2 sensor, best to get it checked and get it read for fault codes
SOURCE: 1995 k2500 suburban idle too fast
replace the coolant temp sensor,it`s values are off,it is defective. Also if this does not work, witch I think It will, change the throttle position sensor.
