If the rear wheels are going to be on the ground and turning, then disconnect and remove the driveshaft going to the rear differential. That would be the easiest and safest way to prevent damage to the transmission and drivetrain and would also make the vehicle a bit easier to control.
this year of chrysler cars are front wheel drive.if you towing is tow it with the front wheels on the dolly as the rear wheels are free wheeling and don`t turn anything but themselves and their own bearings.
This is when you put the shifter to NUETRAL, both shifter. The propeller may turn from where the 2 wheels on ground but it turns freely since the gears inside the transmission is disengaged.
If towing that far of a distance place the front wheels on a tow dolley and pull it from the front with the car in nuetral. That is entriley to far to be pull from the rear will mess up the steering linkages.
If it is automatic then would suggest no doing this. When towing with rear wheels trailing the driveshaft is still turning the tailshaft of transmission,< rear wheel drive > and without motor running the transmission doesn't circulate fluid to cool it off. if it is the only way to move it for you without a trailor then it's best to remove driveshaft and use a car dolly to tow. If it is standard then driveshaft is not does'nt have to be removed. Either way a dolly is what you need to tow it, < towbar won't work > and old school chain or strap can damage fron bumper shell.
