My 2004 Chyrsler Sebring will not turn over, even with a jump. I am trying to find the starter and can't locate it. Can you help me find a diagram or tell me where it is located?
Thank you. My husband wil be putting it up on the racks this evening to look. He was not looking around the bottom of the motor; because he is use to working on vehicles much older than our Sebring. We are just hoping it isn't the same problem we had last year. We had only purchased the car a month when the starter went out. The dealership charged us over $700 to fix it and of course told us none of the numeruous guarantees it had would cover the problem! Needless to say we are trying to sale the stupid thing and get something a lttle more reliable....like a good ol' pickup truck! Thanks for all your help!Thank you. Re: where is the starter located on the 2004 chrysler
Look around the bottom of the motor at the rear of the block on both sides. it should have a thick battery cable attached to it and a couple of smaller wires attached to it, one on the solenoid and one one the same terminal as the thick battery cable
hope this helps you

There's a starter relay in the fuse box under the hood. Have a friend touch the top while you turn the key. If he doesn't feel a slight "tap" then it's most likely blown. Replace. Cheap.
have you checked all the fuses.? how did it run before this? it sounds to be a few things. first pull the starter and have it tested . the fuse box is also a control module . they have problems going bad
My 2004 Sebring did just that. it was a fusible link. a tiny square box in there with the fuses. they are a cube that plugs in about 3/8" of an inch square. Find the bad one replace it and the starter starts working again.
The starter is mounetd to the bottom of the engine either left or right of the fly wheel..
Look for the fly wheel.. Really big round gear.. The starter spinns that big gear & turns the motor..
Good luck..
Rate me good ;o)
If you're not hearing a click from the starter check for a starter relay. May be burned out! DO you hear the fuel pump kick in when you turn the key on? If not something might have triggered your security system and locked you out!
Could be a number of things. A starter, starter solenoid, ignition relay or fuse problem. There are a few different fuses and relays that will be located on your fuse panel and under the hood that deal with your starting power and feed to ignition system
