I have a 2005 frontier SE 4X4 and after the truck warms up the idle gets very rough, I can watch the oil pressure gauge drop from in the middle to almost the low mark. The truck seems to run fine. Gas mileage is good and no codes.

ENGINE CODE p003 RANDOM MISFIRE AFTER TIMING CHAIN CHANGE... VALVE COVER CHANGE... DISTRIBUTOR CHANGE... NOW MY TRUCK ISN'T RUNNING... NO POWER... ENGINE STARTS... MANUAL SHIFT

Truck was running fine. Stopped to fill it up with gas. Engine turns over but won't start. When the engine is cranking, the distributor rotor isn't turning.

Truck was running fine. I shut off and it wouldn't start. I loosened the distributor cap to check the rotor. The distributor rotor isn't spinning when the engine is turned over.

This can be your Idle control valve, when you turn the air on it puts the engine under load and your computer will increase the idle automatically to prevent the engine from cutting out.
When you are standing still and the car is shaking, by touching the accelerator very softly does the shaking stop? If so check the idle control valve.
I hope this will help.

Sam

P0300: SOMETIMES rough idle, shake a lot OR less power above 50mph then got this code

Spark plugs in your car are good for 100,000 miles. try changing fuel filter and add a can of B&G 44K fuel additive. This stuff is the best on the market and only available at dealerships. It conditions fuel pump and injectors, also absorbs water in fuel (methanol). Try this first, your car is too new for any other problems. this should help drivability and fuel mileage. If Nissan does not have B&G, I know Toyota does. Also stay with 91 octane fuel. Check oil and coolant often. do not risk overheating in traffic, watch your gauges......

I have intermittent rough idle on my 2003 nissan altima. car shakes in gear at stop, mostly fine in neutral.

Replace the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor. Next, check the idle air control valve and replace it if found faulty. If it still shakes, have the timing checked out

Enigine shaking and rough take off

If the plug wires were off there's a good chance that you have fouled a spark plug or two causing the engine to misfire making it shake. It sounds like a good tune-up might be in order.

When I start my car there is gas smell and it has poor acceleration. The acceleration gets better as the car warms up... The car also idles rough.I recently had an oil change I also changed the spark plugs...

the gas smell makes me think EGRS (Exhaust Gas Recirculation System) check all your Vacuum hoses, start at your charcoal canister and work backwards.

A vacuum problem explains your conditions at least...

Hi, I have a 2006 Altima with 31,500 miles. Recently, the engine start shaking when car is Idle but I still feel the shake when driving or at red lights. My second problem is a weird loud (humming) noise...

You don't need to change the spark plugs since it has only 31.5 K. The plugs should last 60K. There is a an adjustment at the gas cable end at engine to increase the idle a little bit. You can increase rpm at idle to 600 RPM. Since your RPM at idle is low that why it is shaking at idle, red lights. Let me know it it is shaking at high speed ( 2500 RPM)

1998 nissan frontier misfireing

check spark plugs.
with the engine running (idle)
disconnect one spark plug cable,
see if your engine goes at lower speed or notice engine speed variation.
if it does, the spark plug is OK. it no change, the spark plug is bad.
reconnect the first one then disconnect the next plug.
do this untill at the last spark plug connection.
