I have a 98' Buick Lesabre and the truck key was not given when I purchased the vehicle. Is there anyway to get in the trunk if I do not have a electric truck ? The cylinder has been replaced once before due to the original key breaking off in the lock. Thanks

Hi Allen,here's a forum showing you how to get into your truck,also buy another key and get a magnetic box and put in and hide under back bumper,they have them at Walmart in the automotive section,I have one on my back bumper underneath it. found this helpful answer from buick mechanic on JustAnswer com
Hi, Leslie do you mean like how to cut a key or how to eletronic key security properties? Look in the owners manual sometimes their is a blank key that comes with car that haste the cut # on it. The 98 was the last year that electronic key lock security wasn't mandatory. If active can bee shut off by shut off by radio button controls also should be in owners manual. Check in the glove box for a push button to open trunk. Also along the driver's side floor sill (between the seat and the door). Along the bottom of the dash on driver's side, check there too. My son has a '92 Lesabre, and there is no trunk release-only the key opens the trunk.
Remove the plate, then remove all the screws on the silver plate that is behind the license plate itself. There should be 4 other screws to remove. Once you have done this, open your trunk and partially remove the carpet behind the trunk etc-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Car Key Programmer

either the latch is broken, repair parts will be needed, or the catch loosened and needs adjusting. does the trunk close with a motor? have you tried unlocking the trunk? maybe the latch is in the locked position or it's stuck in the latch position. if stuck, turn the key to unlock and pry with a screwdriver
