Replacing the front lights on a Nissan Almera.

Reset the security system and engine immobilizer. Connect a code reader scan tool as see what it shows.

ONly sign I would use is if it gives a mileage in the maintenance portion of your owners manual. Most times it is timing belts that need replaced at 80K miles or whatever but that isn't necessarily the case with timing chains.

No other real sign on when to change them other than when the fail and when that happens you jump from replacing the belt/chain to replacing the engine.

Some of those have sensors built into the brake pads if not probably a wheel bearing sensor in bearing assembly.

Yes thay Are shod be no the side of the dash

No idea offhand without a play with my multimeter,could be a broken connection or a faulty control box and without working from the back towards the front with the meter its very difficult to say

Check the brake light switch under the dash at the brake peddle and make sure its working if it does not close when you depress the brake peddle the lights will not work You may hve to remove the lower cover for the dash to get at the switch

It may be low on refrigerant if the pressures are to low, the compressor will not engage.
