The inside lights will not go out when the doors are closed
Some vehicles have a twist dashlight control and when it is turned to the extreme position it turns on the interior lights. Other vehicles have a separate switch for interior lights right on the dome light. Yet another type is a dome light with 3 selections that command the dome light to be on fulltime, or to be off fulltime, or the normal door opening triggering the switch.
Provided the problem is not any of the above, you could have a bad doorjam pin switch which is not separating its contacts when the door is closed. I would look at the drivers switch first as it has the most use.

it is more than likly that it is your right rear door i had the same problem with my 95 . The easy way to do it with out buying parts is to take the door panal off and there are two wires that run to the back of the door splice them together that way when the door opens and the four prongs are not conected the light will come on and when it closes and makes it shut off.
