I have a 2000 ranger xlt. Hi and Lo switch on dash. Didn't work at all. I made it Manual Lock-Outs. Very easy. See how on youtube. Funny thing after cleaning the hubs now the switch works and I also have it so I can do it manually if the switch don't work. Better yet No Cost.I have a 2000 ranger xlt. Hi and Lo switch on dash. check the rods are not bent at transfer case try putting it into gear with a shifter from underneath ,if no go must be internal also try backing up if possible.
put a ground strap from your transfer case to your transmission. also with someone listening under the car with the key on but not running put your foot on the brake, shift to neutral and turn the selecter to 4x4 low and see if you can hear the actuater respond
could it be the switch by it self????
