I wonder how people have got so lame, The op asked how to disable passkey 3 and it never fails you always get a bunch of clowns telling him everything but what he asked for, or better yet advising him on what he should do. all the while they should have not said anything because they are real real close to mental retardation. he asked how to disable it retards,
your not gonna like my answer because its is expensive. you have to buy hp tuners or efi live and then you have to buy a license. then you can simply turn off security.
I have yet to find a cheaper method if you find one i would like to know as well.

How about actually FIXING it? It's really easy. There is NO way to disable PassKeyIII unless you know how to rewrite the software code. If you could disable it, they wouldn't call it anti-theft.

SOURCE: security system shut car down

man these buick dealerships are making a killing nowadays, the keys have a chip in them that helps a sensor in the steering column recognize that those are the right keys for that car, it's an anti-theft device that sometimes backfires, usaully the culprit is a damage chip in the key, because keys get thrown around and mashed up with other keys in peoples pockets, the key it self is not cheap but it is cheaper than replacing steering column. Get a new key and see if that helps, they should have provided you with a new key if they replaced the steering column and the sensor inside of it. I think dealerships aren't making enough money selling cars in this economy and are making frivolous repairs that don't help fix problems and charge a lot of money in the process

SOURCE: ignition will not start car. i think it may be passkey problem.

if security keeps blinking than what you have is a bad ignition switch, there is a wire built into the switch to recognise the passkeyand what happens over a period of time the wire will break internally.
When replacing this if doing yourself be carefull when removing and installing new one. After installation you will have to have the key recoded by using the dummy key that comes with the switch.
Good luck and please rank this solution, if I can be of any other help, please let me know. Thank you for using fixya.com

1999 Buick Lasabre no start, no crank and no blinking security light.

You've probably fixed it by this time, but I'll offer this: There's a microswitch in the ignition lock cylinder. When you insert the key, turn it & go past the run, to start position, the PassKey module wants to see the correct resistance from the pellet in your key. If it matches the pre-programmed value, it will complete the circuit of what is known as a "Wheatstone Bridge " in the module, and allow ignition, cranking & fuel systems to operate. If it doesn't see the correct value, it will shut down for like 5 minutes or something, then reset for the next try. The problem is, that after innumerable cyclings of the key, one of the the two wires will separate internally, disabling the system totally. The two wires exit the lower end of the steering column, & are a very shiny white, and orange in color. They terminate in a connector that can be disconnected. Do that. Then take a measurement between the two exposed wires in that little black pellet on your key, with an ohmmeter & obtain a resistor of the same value. Don't worry about the wattage value of the resistor....a 1/8 watt resistor will work just fine, as there is minimal current in the circuit. Insert the resistor into the two wires that go into the wiring harness (Not the two going up into the steering column). If the microswitch was at fault, your problem is now cured, although your PassKey system is now disabled. The upside is that you can now have spare keys made from the cheap blanks without the resistor in them. Good luck.

Car security light flashing, wont start

The problem might be your Vats security system. This causes the car to either "not start" or "shut down" while running, or start for 5 seconds and then die. (depending on the system) If the security light flashes, i guarantee that this is what the problem is. 1st trick, (if not starting) turn the key forward 2 clicks till right before it would normally start, leave like that for 10 minutes. ( no less ) After 10 minutes, turn key back then forward and your car might start. I did this in my regal for more than a year.

Cheap fix: Bypass the chip in your key. Temporary, but effective.

Never worry again fix: Bypass the whole VATS/Passlock/passkey I or passkey II system entirely. Literally take it out, and throw it away. I just did this in my Regal. Took about an hour. Took longer to find the thing than it did to fix the problem. For a list of cars effected by this problem. See the NEWROCKIES link on the right side of their page.........

Cheap fix: Bypass the chip in your key. Temporary, but effective. Until the TDM (theft deterrent module) in the dash poops out, then you're kinda screwed. I was told that these types of key security systems have a 7-10 year life span. Sucks for us. This link explains the "Key Issue" pretty well.

They sell a unit for 200 bucks to totally bypass this system FOREVER. life time-money back and all that. Finally did this in my car. Well worth the 200 if you've looked into getting this replaced... Anywhere from 600-1000 bucks.
