The brake shoe may need to be adjusted. if you pulled the emergency handle and it did not fully disengage when you released it, you can still drive, but it will drag enough to cause the alert. .

SOURCE: Emergency break pedal stuck to floor, but break is disengaged

sounds like your brake cable has broken or there is something damaged in the pedal assembly.........try pulling on the release handle and move the e-brake pedal back to its off position by hand at the same time.(you may have to tie it in this position to keep it up)If that doesnt work there is a sensor on the pedal assembly that you should be able to bypass by either disconecting the wire(1 wire system) or connecting the two wires together (2 wire system)Especially if your truck is a standard the e-brake is an important safety feature,so if these steps fix the light and dinging problem you should still take the steps to have it repaired.
hope this helps.........Good Luck!

SOURCE: A B S brake light on

Disconnect negative terminal on the Battery, with Key on ignition ON engine not running and radio ON, after two minutes or more connect it back, do not panic if sparks come wile connecting it back, make sure is clean and ***, go to Your ignition key and turn it of, then start the car and see if problem remains, you have a bad sensor or a an ABS problem

SOURCE: 2007 uplander keeps dinging

It is a bad oil sensor. Tells your car oil pressure is low when it isnt it is warning you. They are $30 at o reileys and just a plug and a clip. Easy to change !

2003 gmc envoy emergency brake light is on and there's a ding ding ding ding nouse. checked brake fluid. How do I stop the Noise or fix it

the noise is telling you the emergency brake is on (or it thinks it is) emergency brakes don't use any fluids as they are totally mechanical on your truck , id first try setting the brake and then releasing it again , if this still doesn't clear the light on then id have your mechanic look at it , might require an adjustment

id be cautious in driving it if theres any possibility that brake is dragging as this will severely overheat your brakes requiring you to replace them early

Turn off the ding ding noise on a 2003 bonneville SSEI? The emergency brake has been disabled but the ding noise will not go away

Wait, you are driving a car with the E brake disabled? Perhaps you should remedy this very dangerous act and fix the ding at the same time.

2001 s10 will jump start. After it sits, I try to start it, it won't start, but the ignition keeps dinging after I turn it off and take the key out. I can jump start it and the dinging stops.

its sounds like a bad ignition switch-try to jiggle it and see if its stop after you have turned key off- also those dinging sounds are to warn you that you have left something on -usually headlights or maybe even your dome lights which would account for your battery dying

I would say the switch is what you talking about

30 minutes or seconds? does the dome lamp come on, like one of the doors not closed all the way? A good repair shop or the Ford dealer can get a scanner and watch for the belts, doors, lights, ect ( I think thats the only thing that will ring a chime) as you drive and see whats making it go on.
