i got a 2001 silverado 1500 and it wont start it turns over and fires and .... Put the key in and the truck barely starts due to the battery being weak. .... Although I recommend performing proper diagnosis, what you are describing souns like a classic case of a faulty crankshaft position sensor.

The first thing I would check is fuel pressure. This type of fuel injection requires a minimum fuel pressure in order to operate. If fuel pressure is as little as one psi below minimum the vehicle will not start. You can try squirting a couple of shots of carb spray into the air snorkel while somebody cranks the engine over. If the engine starts and then dies you now you fpdeffinetely have a fuel issue. If the engine still won't start check for spark. Let me know what you find. It almost sounds to me like a timing issue. Did you get it timed properly after the distributer was installed? Another thing is the timing chain. Aim a timing light at the crank marks and see if they are staying in the same place, or jumping around. If they are jumping your timing chain may have jumped, or be badly worn, and will need to be replaced.

sound like you are not getting the right fuel pressure you need to check the fuel pressure hit the tank in the center with a hammer and se if it runs if it does you need a pump

sound like the timming is off i would check it first then have the starter checked that might be your noise

1st thing to do is test the system for codes, the problem is most likely a failed or stuck shift solenoid indside the trans, have you ever serviced the trans, sometimes a fluid and filter cahnge will cure these kinds of issues.
