I have a 96 Chrysler LHS that doesn't fire, well it does fire but only once. So far i have changed both the crankshaft sensor and the cam sensor, i have changed the coil pack, tried a different PCM, and the auto shutdown relay.. right now i am lost i cannot figure out what is wrong
First, check the ECM fuse in the power control module (it will be a yellow 20 amp fuse). Second, check the timing belt. You can pull out the cam sensor and look in the hole while someone cranks the motor. If the cam gear is not turning, the timing belt is broken. VERY IMPORTANT - when replacing the cam sensor, get a special adhesive pad from a Chrysler dealer that attaches to the bottom of the sensor to set the proper gap (cost about $2). Install the cam sensor until the pad touches the gear and tighten down the locking bolt. The pad will wear off in normal running. If the gap is not set correctly using this gapping pad, you won't start.

i have tested fuel pressure and i am getting plenty.. what i mean by firing once, when i was checking for spark, i just used a screw driver to check for spark.. as soon as it starts to turn over it will fire, i will get spark, but only once
its a 3.5 liter engine with 184,000 miles, it has been well taken care of only two owners, me and the previous person that had it had everything documented that was ever done to it.
actually.. what first happened was i was driving it and then it died.. wouldn't start and it did turn over a little odd.. so far thats the one thing i have not checked.. the timing that is.. but i did compression tests and it seems all cylinders are getting good compression.. so i don't think its off timing.. but maybe i should check that out.
ah, kk.. tomorrow morning i will get the numbers and post them, well thank you for your help so far!
That stall and odd start is a sure sign of a cam timing problem. Post your compression test numbers when you get a chance and take it from there.
do you have any check engine lights?
When it turns over does it seem to sound different, a little faster and quieter? I'm thinking broken or jumped timing belt.
Which engine do you have? How many miles on it?
I'm not sure what you mean by fires once and dies. Have got access to a fuel pressure gauge to monitor fuel pressure when it dies.
