My 2003 Ford Focus ZX5 check engine light came on. The car idles fine and cruises fine but when the engine is loaded (throttle cracked open) it bucks and spits and sputters. I've changed the MAF meter which helped some but I need to know what else might be wrong.

Have you hooked this up to an OBD11 reader yet ?
May be a bad crank, cam or knock sensor. Cars today are loaded with sensors.
If you don't read the codes you will be chasing the rabbit down the hole. ;-)
Hope this helps

How many miles on the car? Have you ever changed the fuel filter? (Sounds like fuel pump and filter)

Take it to Auto Zone and have them scan it and get the code. It could be a few things causing your problem. Need the code.

2004 Ford Focus ZX5 - car skips beats/rhythm while idling. Random w/ no set pattern.

can be a few ideas: check plug wires, misfiring, check the plug, if you dont have plugs, than check the [ where the plug should be]
it could be the timing belt slipping, in the 1970 we had timing chains that would last for every, but some one got idea is to put a belt in so at 60-70 thousand miles you need to replace timing belt.

there is no fuse for that, you would either have to fix the issue for the reason the light is on or disconnect the battery for a few hours to erase the memory in the cars computer.

My 2003 ford focus started his morning but as soon as I removed my foot from the accelerator my car would die. This happened numerous times this morning.

Your idle control valve is either dirty or bad. You should be getting a check engine light on your dash.
The idle control valve is located on your throttle body.
If you have a check engine light on you will need to plug a OBD II reader in to retrieve the code.
Please let me know what you find.
