Remove the hood, drain and remove the radiator, remove the belts, loosen the bolt into the balancer, replace part way, hook up a harmonic balance puller, tighten until balancer come free, remove puller, remove HB bolt, remove balancer.
Check seals before replacing, if damaged, replace, check keyway, replace woodruff key if needed.
Install is the reverse.

To remove the harmonic balancer on my 1992 Pathfinder, I needed to loosen the alternator and power steering belts, remove the cooling fan (4 10 mm nuts), remove the radiator (2 10 mm bolts hold it to the frame, remove top and bottom hose [The drain **** is covered by what appears to be a coolant line], as well as the overflow tube to the reservoir. With a 3/4" impact gun and a 27 mm socket, remove the bolt that retains the alt, ps shieves and the harmonic balancer to the crankshaft. With a large 3 jaw puller, remove the harmonic balancer with the pully sheives as an assembly. I do not recommend attempting the removal without the puller.
To put it back on, you will need a large torque wrench for the crankbolt and a small torque wrench for with a crowsfoot for the fan nuts.

Yes a harmanic balancer from tha corolla is the same thing. I had to do the same thing with my 95 geo. It works out to be a lot cheaper buying for a toyota than a geo.

I have a '94 Tempo, it had a "ticking" sound. It was the "harmonic balancer" (crankshaft pulley) a local mechanic changed it for $60, the part cost me $120 (I work for a Ford dealership) $180 without employee discount. you can get one for much less at a junkyard if you can find one. Good luck, Sean
