front wheel bearing is pressed into hub and has retaining clip on rear and then cv axle shaft comes through center and has a nut and keeper pin. Rule of thumb is to replace both front wheel bearings at same time. raise front of vehicle place on jackstands for safety remove front wheels remove brake calipers remove front rotors and cv axles remove steering hub assy from lower ball joint,tie rod end and struts take hub to shop and have bearing pressed out have new bearings pressed in reassemble front wheels in reverse order of disassembly.
bent rim, tires out of balance, worn cv axle, bad wheel bearing, warped brake rotor, bad tire. Change that wheel to the rear, and see if the vibration moves with the wheel. Depending on the vibration, could be a motor/transmisson mount.
the rear Hub bearing is out!! need to jack it up take the wheel off and the caliper and disk and replace the bearing if it has drum brakes which is should!! you will have to pull the axle to get to the bearing

Your guess is probably correct that they were over tightened on installation, or perhaps not greased at all? even if they were loose, they wouldn't be destroyed.
The rear hub and bearing are combined into a single assembly. The bearing is sealed for life and requires no lubrication or attention. If the bearing is worn or damaged, you have to replace the entire hub and bearing assembly:
loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, place it on jack stands and remove the rear wheel.
Remove the brake drum or caliper and disc.
Remove the dust cover (in the center).
Unstake the hub retaining nut (bend the part out that locks it), unscrew the nut and remove the thrust washer then remove the hub assembly.
Install the new assembly and thrust washer, tighten the new nut to torque 134 lbs, then stake in the edge of the nut (opposite of unstaking).
Tap the dust cover into place, all around the edge until it's seated.
Reverse removal for the rest.

Clunking? Probably one or both wheel bearings. Dude, that car is like UNSAFE to drive!! Jack the rear of the car up and yank on the wheel. If it moves the bearings are bad. Pull in and out and also pry up and down with a bar. Check for broken or bent rear suspension parts, or just plain worn out bushings.
sounds more like a wheel bearing,jack the car up and support with axle stands,then grab the front left wheel at both sides and shake it hard.then grab it at the top and bottom and shake it hard.if a knocking can be felt through the wheel then its most likely a wheel bearing.repeat the test for the rear wheel.also with the vehicle jacked up,spin the wheel and put your ear next to it,if it makes a dry whirring or grinding sound as it spins,this is a symptom of a worn wheel bearing
those are sealed units and are intergrated with the wheel rotor if the bearings are bad they must be replaced and those are dealer only items. labor for each side is about 1 hour for remove and install per side. unfortunately there are no aftermarket parts available just yet. hope this helps
