Toyota Land Cruiser fuel tank warning light on

The fuel tank warning light is illuminated on my 80 series (1995) petrol Toyota Land Cruiser after suffering from a flat battery. There is fuel in the auxiliary tank but the pump will not move the fuel from the reserve to the main tank when the button is pressed. The light on the button stays on for about 1 second when pressed then is extinguished. The pump itself works OK when connected directly to a battery. Any ideas?

Hi There. Have the exact same problem on my 95mod petrol with the sub fuel tank not emptying. think it may be the relay but cant find it. The earlier models have the relay in the rear wheel well, but ours are set up differently. had the whole car to pieces but still cant find it. Was wondering if you had any luck with yours and could enlighten me. Thanks [email protected]

Toyota 80 series GLX auto landcruiser 1996 need head bolt torque a nd cam shaft torque settings

Torque setting Toyota Land-cruiser 80 Series 4.5 1995-98
Engine code: 1FZ-FE, 1HD.
Stage 1: 20 Nm (Start tightening bolts from center to outwards)
Stage 2: 39 Nm
Stage 3: Rotate each bolt by 90 Degrees.
Stage 4: Further rotate each bolt by 90 Degrees

I have a 1997 petrol 80 series RV land cruiser. The sub tank switch lights up for 1 second then goes out. is this how it works? both tanks are full so i am not sure which one is currently feeding fuel

If the light remains off during normal operation, it is OK.

Trace the light wiring, it is probably wired incorrectly, you did not stipulate whether the engine is diesel or petrol, either way the wiring sounds like it is wrong.

Just a thought.I don't think the tanks transfer fuel.They draw the fuel from one tank or the other.I may be wrong,but have a look.Hope this helps

Broken sub tank switch in 80 series toyota landcruiser

Replace it. Most switches are mounted to plastic snap clips than can be removed with a simple Flathead screwdriver.A $5 plastic pry tool set is the best, but a butter knife or two works wonders sometimes.

I have a Toyota Landcruiser 80 series FZJ80, it has a dual petrol & LPG.While starting with petrol it cranks longer

Petrol has a different ignition point than LPG. You might want to get your fuel system recalibrated.

Where can I find out about what the 1995 Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series warning lights mean?

if it was me i would call a toyota dealership and that way you will know right away what it is because this is something you do not want to wait on because it could be something that will cause damage to your engine are stop by the service department and they can tell you what it is good luck.
