4.0L , 5.0L : Back near the firewall (Evaporator) above the accumulator/drier. The line will be cold /low pressure port. Near radiator (Condenser) is hot/high pressure port
Be careful, if unsure do not risk it. If the system is leaking this will be a very temporary fix and probably needs the service of an experienced auto AC person.
hmm ..if you are looking for the low side air conditioner port .. then locate the condenser (thats in front of and looks like the radiator) .. you will notice two tubes going to that ..one is large the other small .. the small tube is the high pressure side .. the large tube is the low pressure side ... follow the large tube back until you find a cap that covers the low pressure port .. thats where you would fill with new refregerant (r134a) .. if you buy r134a, you can also get a filler hose and gage.. that hose will only hook up to the low pressure port ..it wont fit the high pressure port ...
LOOK FOR A BLACK CAP OR BLUE CAP LOW PRESSURE CHARGE PORT WILL BE ON SAME LINE NEXT TO DRIER OR ACCUMULATOR.OR TO EVAPORATOR LINE.DONT CHARGE PORT WITH RED CAP.THATS THE HIGH PRESSURE PORT AND DISCHARGE PORT.WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WHEN HANDLING REFRIGERANT.VERY DEADLY IF YOU INHALE. R -134 TRY NOT TO BREATHE AROUND IT WORK WHERE THERE IS GOOD FRESH AIR FLOW.
On my 1998 Sienna (when facing the engine), the low port is located on the left side near the back, between fender and the engine. Is is marked with a back cap that has an 'L' on it.
Do you have ac gauges? You can only check with set of 134a gauges.Hook the red hose of the ac gauges to the large ac port on the high side ac line(it is the small ac line/hose).Do not turn the red knob on (on the ac gauges)If need to hook up low side(blue hose)to the small ac port on the low side line(it is the large ac port). If I can help, let me know.
look for the large ac line/hose and follow it untill u come to the small service port this is wher u charge the small ac line/hose has the large port this is the high side
You find the AC low pressure at the top of the compressor, orientated toward you , facing the front of the
vehicle. You can also follow the compressor line to reach the port.
The valve is covered a plastic cap covering it. Near the compressor you find two ports, the high port and low port.
To find out which one is the low port, run the air conditioner for a couple of minutes withthe engine on. Then turn off the care and touch the lines from compressor to the two ports covered with
plastic caps. Only one of the pipes will be cold, the cold line will lead you to the low port.
If you go under the hood you can locate the low pressure line this way, the line will be the larger of the 2 lines comming from the ac pump. if the ac works it will be the cold line, the hi press will be very hot, follow the line from the ac pump on the engine and it will have a charge port in it either near the pump or near the the engine bulk head/fire wall. I hope this helps, if it does please rate my info.
Found it, thanks! No where near where I was originally looking.
revs low when cold
