When i have the heater/defroster on the heater below blows cold air while the defrost blows hot. when i switch to just defrost the bottom heater stays on and blows cold air. when i have front dash and defrost on it blows hot but again the heater below blows cold?

you might want to check the module under the glovebox

the heater vacuum motor and lines needs to be checked.Also get the blend door checked.

Could be the control switch itself. Or possibly the actuator that moves the door from defrost to heater. With the heater on, try switching from defrost to heat and try to hear if you can hear anything in the dash operating.

There are small doors within the heater/AC components located under the dash that direct the flow of air. Something has gone wrong with the operation of these doors.

I doubt this is a do-it-yourself project. Significant disassembly is required.
