Find the switch or sensor that goes to that door, and adjust or replace.

SOURCE: We have a 2005 ford focus wagon and the locking

Have a look at the catch on the door.It has a 'forked' piece that swings one way or the other. On the car, there is a small 'knob' that sticks out about 1/2 inch. With a thick bladed screwdriver, the catch on the door must be clicked back into position so the opening of the fork can let the 'knob' slide into the catch. When looking at the catch, the moving fork is mounted in the catch itself so push around the screwdriver to flick it back out.Its a hard thing to describe but once you do it you will see what I mean.Hope this helps you(the fork has to be swung/clicked sideways)

Toyota Sienna. The rear tailgate door on my Sienna opens and then closes itself right away. While closing it has a jerking motion, not smooth at all.

Question edited to add maker.
Question moved to model category from Building Lumber.

These automated features are all computer controlled by the BCM. It the door doesn't close within a certain time, or maybe it has a sensor, that can sense the jrking? Certainly there are sensors that know the door should be closed.

If you can get behind the panelling, you could spray with a dry silicone lubricant like Jigaloo.

You are not alone with this issue and it may be the Recall problem.

There is a recall/TSB for issues relating to the auto back door on these, and it sounds like your issue may be related to the reason for the recall/TSB. Your local dealer should be able to tell you with your VIN whether this has been performed on yours. When we bought our 2006 last year from a dealer, it had not been done and I had to ask them to do it.

There is a recall for the back door stays (gas struts). When they deteriorate they can no longer hold the back door up, the door sags and activates the power closing. Have a read here

Where can I find chassis number on Jeep Cherokee y.2003 and y.2005?Thank you

Chassis/VIN Plate
Cherokee VIN plate is located on the offside of the bulkhead on riveted metal plate adjacent to bonnet hinge . The body/build plate is on the nearside of the bulkhead and displays a VIN repeat.

A secondary position can be found in a sticker format on the bottom inside of the passenger door.

In later Jeep models the VIN data plate can be located on the passenger or rear passenger door pillar

The car is a 2005 Ford Focus ZXW. How do I cancel the child locks for the rear doors? I have looked at the small diagram on the door post, but am unable to find the "keyhole".

It is just a slot not realy a key hole. You could use a small screw driver too. Just look straight into the latch of the door and you will see a little slot, cream colored plastic I believe. Vertical is lock and horizontal is unlock. Try it and see what you can accomplish. I have a rear door that I can't get to lock which I am investigating right now.
