Wall5552: there were two engines used in 1992 Jeep Wranglers.
A 2.5 liter and a 4.0 liter. HOWEVER>>>> The location for the crank angle sensor is the same for both.
It is located on the bell housing up near the front at about the 10:00 PM position.
The Cam position sensor is located in the Distributor on both engines as well.

My 2003 jeep grand cherokee will crank and run fine. drive a couple miles stop at light will shut off want crank back up .let it set a while will start right up.

Check the crank position sensor. If this goes out, when it gets hot, the sensor will think the crank/timing is in the wrong position. They did this to prevent engine damage in the event that your timing is off. However, when the sensor gets old, as it gets hot, it malfunctions shutting off the engine. Then, when it cools down a bit, all is well.
IF IT IS THE CRANK SENSOR, REPLACE IT IMMEDIATELY. Repeatedly trying to start an engine w/the CPS out can throw the timing off. This happened to a friend's Kia Sepphia once and it locked up her engine.

1994 jeep wrangler no fire

Crank position sensor has a higher failure rate than it should...however i would not change it "at random" Check for continuity between b&c terminals of the sensor with a digital ohmeter.
There should be no continuity between them (b&c should be marked on connector) No continuity reading is same as when probes are not connected to each other.
I really dislike when people try and help and use terms that owners can't understand ... "check your zxy and qtr then add an abc" dosen't seem helpful. I hope I am as clear as I can be!!!
Good luck.

I have a 92 jeep wrangler that won't run

Sounds like the crank sensor. One way to check is while cranking watch the tach. If there is no movement then most likely it needs a crank sensor. If the sensor is good you will see a slight bounce in the tach.
