Radiator fans don`t work on town and country van causing engine to overheat

The radiator fan relay is located behind the grill on the driver's side of the vehicle. There is no relay in the distribution box. There is a 40 amp fusible link, however, in that box.
The relay (behind the grill) works in conjunction with the coolant temperature sensor, the A/C high pressure switch, the transmission temperature sender and the PCM. This relay will run the fans from 30% to 99% of full speed based on the signal coming from the PCM. This is all according to the official Chrysler shop manuals that I have for my 2005 Town and Country van.

Fan control knob on a/c and heater will only run on high speed. 2003 dodge mini van

I replaced the fan module under the glovebox on my 2005 Town & Country last night. Mine would not shut off at all with key on. It only blew on high no matter where I set the switch. Mine also had the climate control which makes a difference. If it is not the auto climate control it is usually the blower resistor if the other fan speed selections don't blow at all except on high.

I owne a 2005 Chrysler Towne & Country van with 3.8 liter V6 engine. The radiator has a small annoying leak in it. I am a good "shade tree" mechanic, but have never replaced this type of...

Its not that hard. Once you remove the upper radiator support everything will be a little more accessible. There will be two bolts that hold the a/c condenser to the radiator. Once those are removed pull up on the condenser to release it from the lower mounts and then let it rest in front of the radiator. Remove the fans from the radiator and the upper and lower hoses and the radiator will be ready to pull out.

It will take you about an hour to an hour and a half with a basic set of tools. Make sure you run the vehicle at idle with the cap off until it gets up to operating temp to get all the air out of the cooling system.

Why does my 2005 Town & Country radiator fan

The fan is computer controlled and will not come on untill it reaches 212Deg . It should come on though if you turn on the air conditioning, if not you could have a bad fan relay or relay plug.

How do i replace the radiator fan relay in an 05 town and country

this van has a solid state relay unit to control the fan, when it dies it just allows the fans to run. this relay is located behind drivers headlight, attached to the bumper towards the grill. It will either be bolted on or riveted on. There will be big fins on it to keep it cool. When you change this unit you have to mount it for it to work right (zip ties are no good) seen that before.

Is the radiator fan the same as the cooling fan?

The cooling fan is used to cool the radiator.
There is a sensor that turns the fan 'on' if the radiator gets too hot. A light comes 'on' to tell you the fan is 'on'.

If the fan ran all night the sensor is bad and the (sorry for the pun) the idiot light is on to tell everyone something is wrong and it needs service.
DON"T run your car with out the fan!
